Thanks to Gosheni and guide Huruma for taking us to experience a wonderful trip to Tanzania.
The ten-day trip to Tanzania is over. In addition to gathering the African Five Overlords, the African Five Ugly, the African Five Beauty and many animal cubs, we are also very lucky to see many famous scenes such as leopards eating horned horses, male and female lions eating buffalo , a group of vultures grabbing food, elephants, zebras and pigs fighting!
I'm very glad to choose the big brand Gosheni. All the staff are very reliable, especially Huruma, the guide recommended by the company for us. Thank him so much. Without him, we can't see so many animals and famous scenes.
I compared Huruma with other guides and found that there are five main reasons why he can take us to see so many animals:
1.He has been doing this job for more than 20 years. He used to be a local ranger, so he is very familiar with all kinds of local animals, terrain and climate. Even on muddy roads, He can drive very steadily. He has never been stuck in the mud or slipping, and he can reach various destinations quickly and smoothly. All animals are like treasures. After seeing them, he can immediately find the pictures in the corresponding book and show them to us.
2. He is gentle and gentlemanly and has a good relationship. Whether it is other guides or hotel staff, they are very familiar with him. In addition to helping us communicate, he can also get first-hand animal dynamic information in time, take us to the scene as soon as possible, and seize the best field of vision. He knows very well what the animal will do next. We always choose the direction in advance, and other vehicles envy us.
3. His eyesight is very good. On the first day, he took us to see the leopard. The leopard was lying in the grass. When it was hard for me to look at it with a telescope, he looked directly with his eyes and told me that the leopard was looking up at the food he was hanging on the tree. He rarely uses telescopes, but he can see many animals with the naked eye. He can tell us where there are animals while driving steadily. As long as he stops, he will definitely see animals. Our friends in other vehicles that day didn't have as many animals as we saw.
4. He is very fluent in English, has no local accent, and can speak a lot of high-end words. When Huruma was young, he lived with his British friends, so his English is very fluent and there are no obstacles to communication. He has been explaining various animals and local culture along the way, and can also answer all kinds of questions we asked. He will joke and tell us stories every day, and the atmosphere is super good.
5. He has a strong sense of responsibility. We also ordered a hot air balloon during this period. The staff sent by the hot air balloon company to pick us up in the morning accidentally got stuck. After learning about it, Huruma didn't say anything. He crawled out of the quilt at six o'clock in the morning and didn't change his pajamas. He drove directly to the fly and took us to the hot air balloon camp, allowing us to catch up with the hot air balloon. It was very Touched.
When we separated at the end of the Safari trip, my friend and I cried a lot. We were very reluctant to be separated from our guide Huruma. Although we will probably never see him again in the future, we will always remember him and t hank him for taking us through such a wonderful trip to Africa. I also hope he is healthy and his life is getting better and better!

The BEST of Tanzania - With Bariki!
Words fall short to describe our experience with Bariki, our guide and Gosheni Safaris. If you want to have a truly memorable and amazing experience, you should book with Gosheni and get Bariki as your guide. He is hands-down the best; incredibly experienced, well-informed, and the most accommodating we have had in anyplace, anywhere. What sets Bariki apart from all other guides is not only his in-depth knowledge about animals, birds but also his amazing instincts about places to go and truck positioning for the best views and sights. He is an incredible driver and set us up in perfect spots for great photos and experiences. Thanks to his exceptional skills, we even spotted several rare animals and birds. From a booking perspective, Gosheni (our booking manager was Maliwaza) had great communication and made us feel welcomed and special, especially because some of our party had allergies. They were very easy to work with! If you want a personalized, once-in-a-lifetime experience - Go with Gosheni Safaris with Maliwaza coordinating and Bariki as your guide! No need to look at any other company … Simply put - They are the best!!

ONCE in a life time - absolutely faboulus
They promised one in a lifetime experience and we received once in a lifetime experience. Before getting in to deatails we want to Thank our guide Ombeni. Whenever you have the chance to book a tour in english ask for Ombeni.
From the first day he made us feel comfortable and welcome. After fantastic days in Tarangire ans Lake Manyara nationalpark we arrived to Serengeti. We enjoyed the knowledge of Ombeni and his patience while we were observing animals (pole pole = slowly slowly). As well as in the other parks Ombeni had eagle eyes and spotted lions or leopards even several hundred meters away.
Accommodations were fabulous. Starting from interior and especially highlighting the exceptional friendliness and service of every staff member.
During our trip we also met other gosheni guides for e.g. Eno who also speaks german, and all of them were amazing.
Whenever your looking for an reliable, well organised, welcoming and committed tour operator choose gosheni.
Many thanks to Ombeni, Peter and the rest of the team.

Great Safari with Gosheni
Gosheni is a Class A company... small by their own admission but that doesn't make any difference. I reviewed, talked to, emailed, asked about many, many tour companies of all stripes and I am lucky I chose these guys/gals. Pendo handled everything in picking, scheduling my safari and was always prompt and clear in her responses (Not like several companies I talked with). It was a pleasure working with them from start to finish...the elements of the safari were just perfect for me (7 days) and I experienced, saw and did exactly what I wanted to do. I am a single male adult traveller and Pendo took great care of me and I appreciate Peter took the time after the trip to say hello. Hey, I saw, experience everything I would have hoped to see (the 5++++)...lions on attack, wilderbeast and zebra racing in migration, NG Crater....I could go on and on but why don't you sign up and experience what I did...last but not least is my guide and driver and he became a great companion was Fuhanael...experienced, knowledgeable and all around terrific guide. I asked to have a day or so of rest after the safari and they booked me into Kiligolf and a stay at Villa Luna Retreat which was terrific...so from start to finish and in between it was an unforgettable experience thanks to Gosheni Safaris. Frankly, I can't recommend them highly enough.....
Best Safari for us
We have had memorable moments on a 10 day safari with Gosheni through the national parks Tarangire, Manyara, Eyasi, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and after many worldwide Trips we can say that these experiences were the most impressive at all. After we had decided to go to Tanzania, we wrote to various safari providers and asked for offers. However, because we did not just want to observe animals, we asked for incorporate Cultural Trips as an important component. From all the offers Gosheni proved to be the best for us. The advice, contact and communication with Peter Roberts, the owner, was outstanding. We would never have dreamed how impressively the visits and the meeting with the Hadzabes, Datogas and other ethnicities had affected us.
For the safari, Peter gave us an absolute top guide with Zadock. Anyone who has ever been together with a driver guide over such a long time 12 hours a day will be able to assess how difficult that can be. With Zadock we had from our first day a very friendly, experienced driver and connoisseur of the fauna and flora of Tanzania at our side. Not only that, he was also a very intelligent conversation partner and could enlighten us about the history, culture and politics. At the same time, he has always been interested and cared for our welfare.
And also we will mention that we have seen the incredible variety of wild animals. We think Tanzania is the best place to do a safari.
Likewise mentioned the accommodations selected by Gosheni the food and the always very friendly staff in the camps. Particularly the Acacia tented camp in the Serengeti mentioned. We will certainly return again.

Great experience
We are a couple from Italy and we did a 5d/4n safari with Gosheni in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro in August and everything was great. Our communication with the sales manager Pendo was very clear from the beginning, she made us an offer but was open to our suggestions and answered to all our doubts. The payment has been very smooth: a safe bank transfer deposit before leaving and the final payment with the credit card.
Once in Arusha we met the owner Peter who answered to our final doubts. Also at the very last moment we found 3 people joining us in order to have more fun and save some money. As promised Peter gave us back the difference for a 5 people Safari.
Erasto, our guide, was very friendly and informative. We had a lot of fun with him and we also learnt a lot about the animals, the parks and about Tanzania. I can say we found a true friend!
We saw tons of wildlife: lions (hunting!!), elephants, giraffs, leopards (9!!!!), cheetas, hyenas, hyppos, zebras, gazelles... and many more.
The car is very good: spaceful with a full openable roof, new tires, camera/phone charger, fridge full of water. Food is good and the tends for the public campings are confortable enough.
We also stayed 2 nights in Serengeti Acacia Camp. The rooms are big tends with a luxury bed and bathroom. The atmosphere ot the tentet camp is gorgeous and the restaurant excellent.

Wonderful Safari in Tanzania
We had a fantastic time on safari in Tanzania with Gosheni. Peter booked our trip on short notice and provided great recommendations on an itinerary that was tailored to what we wanted to do and see. The vehicle was in excellent condition and accommodation and level of service exceeded our expectations.
Make sure to ask for William as your driver, he is very experienced and knowledgeable and is a safe driver. He made sure we saw lots of wildlife and that all our needs were looked after.

Excellent Operator, Fantastic Holiday
My family and I recently had the joy of doing a safari with Gosheni. Expectations were exceeded throughout; from creating the itinerary with Peter to each day on safari with Moses. The team, led by Peter, take a lot of pride in personalising the service and experience.
Peter was very helpful when we were planning the itinerary. We wanted a private safari and we had 2 children (aged 9 and 7) who were experiencing Africa for the first time. Peter made suggestions taking into account our budget, but nothing was forced upon us. The decisions were ours and together we created a nine-day safari that was to be absolutely magical.
The service started on arrival at Arusha Airport where our guide Moses met us. Peter also met with us at the hotel later to go over the itinerary and answer any questions.
Attention to detail is evident with Gosheni. They are different to the multitude of other tour operators because they care for the fine details. We had a brand new land cruiser with less than 200km on the clock that was equipped with cushions and kikoys (masai blankets/wraps), wifi and electric plugs allowing you to charge cameras and phones. However, it is out of their control that the Serengeti does not have total phone coverage! We had a table, with table cloth, and chairs for our various picnics compared to other operators who used a blanket on the ground or bonnet of the car. There was an ample supply of water and soft drinks, plus we had wine with our lunches.
Moses was not just a driver, he was an excellent guide who shared a wealth of knowledge about the animals and birds, and Tanzania. He really cared about us and our holiday and was keen to treat us to amazing sightings, even though he had seen it all before. He was amazing at predicting what the animals would do and was always able to position the vehicle so that we missed nothing. Moses became a member of our family for 9 fantastic days.
Our departure from the Serengeti was a flight back to Arusha, where we had 4 hours to kill before our next flight to Dar Es Salaam. Peter met us again, and we were able to have lunch in town rather than wait out the time at the small airport.
In summary, I would highly recommend building your African safari holiday with Gosheni.

Fantastic 11 day Gosheni Safari
If you are going on safari, Go Gosheni. I wanted to take my nephew on safari for his 20th birthday. We chose the five top agencies, according to the reviews. Itineraries were all similar, but Gosheni gave us three price ranges, depending upon the type of lodges we wanted to stay at. Peter, the head of Gosheni, called me in New York to make sure we had received his quotes and to answer any questions that we may have had. We kept up a continual email correspondence, making occasional changes, until I was convinced that Peter had put together the perfect trip for us. I was not wrong. Peter met us at the airport, took us to our lodging and met us after dinner to go over the itinerary in detail. Our guide was Moses, who did everything but part the Red Sea. Moses was outstanding as a guide and driver. He was able to spot wildlife from quite a distance and always managed to maneuver us up close. We saw the "big five", and were constantly within 6 feet of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other forms of wildlife. Moses was a walking encyclopedia of facts about all of the species we saw. The lodges we stayed at were perfect. All arrangements had been made. We did not encounter a single problem during the entire trip. I recommend Gosheni most highly to anyone who wants a perfect, trouble-free safari.

Amazing Honeymoon Experience With Gosheni
My wife and I recently undertook a private safari with Gosheni in Tanzania, as the first leg of our honeymoon (before transferring to Zanzibar). We can’t recommend them highly enough. They were fantastic from start to finish.
I did a reasonable amount of planning regarding my preferred itinerary and accommodation for the safari, and sent a generic request for a quote to a number of Tanzanian safari companies. The request gave a flavour for the type and quality of experience in which I was interested. Gosheni (Peter) was very quick to respond with a detailed proposal (a couple of quite prominent companies failed to reply at all, and one arranged a time to call me to discuss our proposed trip, and then failed to get in touch), and I found that his views/ recommendations matched my own thoughts pretty well. The price was competitive too.
Peter’s helpfulness continued throughout the booking process, and together we tweaked the itinerary over a few weeks before I felt ready to commit to paying the 20% deposit. I must admit that wiring such a reasonably sized amount of money to an account on another continent is a slightly disconcerting experience, but I needn’t have worried. Gosheni are a thoroughly reputable company. Peter was also very accommodating and understanding when a combination of my being away on a work business trip, and a UK bank holiday meant that I sent the final payment in a few days late. His communication with clients is excellent, and he always put me at my ease.
We arrived in Kilimanjaro airport at the end of a long day of travel from London. We were very pleased to see the smiling face of our guide Zadock as we emerged from the terminal building. He carried our bag from his almost brand new (and immaculate) Gosheni Land Cruiser, and we were off to our hotel in the Arusha for our first overnight stay. I will not provide a detailed review of our itinerary and accommodation on here (I will save that for separate, specific reviews for those lodges), as I would rather concentrate on Gosheni. I will provide a summary at the end.
Zadock met us bright and early on our first day. This set the pattern for the week. He was unfailingly punctual (sadly, unlike us!), and always smiling. The Land Cruiser had always been cleaned in the morning (sparkling inside and out – easily the best-presented vehicle we saw in Tanzania), and it was always well-stocked with free water, soft drinks and wine. The hospitality continued as we met Peter at the Gosheni office (we were presented with our very useful Gosheni safari hats), and then we were off on our adventures.
I can’t state enough the importance of a good guide. They make or break the experience for you. And Zadock from Gosheni was perfect. He is a truly gentle man, happy, welcoming, and intensely focused on his guests’ well-being, and he had become our firm friend by the end of our 5 days together. He is very knowledgeable, with a thirst for learning. He takes every opportunity to read more about his country, its colonial history and wildlife, and to impart that information to guests. His ability to locate and spot wildlife is almost supernatural! And if he can’t locate a specific creature himself, and as a guide of very long-standing, he will be on the radio to his network of friends/ colleagues in the area to understand what animals are around. When other guides saw Zadock, their faces lit up. I think that this is the mark of the man. When I think of Zadock, I think of the giraffe (his favourite animal). He loves this creature because it is social, and because it is peaceful. He is proud to tell you that the giraffe was chosen as the emblem of Tanzania, because it symbolises how the 120+ tribes of his nation come together to live in harmony.
I will provide only two more anecdotes. Firstly, we did a dawn balloon ride over the central region of the Serengeti (it was magical). However, we had been supposed to have conducted this over the Western Corridor. This was entirely the balloon company’s mistake (not Gosheni’s). No matter, Zadock and Peter made the necessary changes to itinerary order, accommodation and flights in order to ensure that we had minimal disruption and little additional travel. Their concern was not all of the extra work and hassle for them, only our well-being/ happiness. Finally, after we had (sadly) said goodbye to Zadock, we flew back to Arusha and transferred by another lovely Gosheni staff member to Kilimanjaro airport. Peter took the time to meet us on our way. He was eager to ensure that the whole trip had been a success, and that we had enjoyed it. This is typical of the ethos of his company.
Please, go and safari. It is a life-enhancing experience. If you do, choose Tanzania. I don’t believe that there is anywhere better. And choose Gosheni. People and companies like these deserve to succeed. You will be safe in their hands.
Summary of Itinerary/ Accommodation:
1. Mount Meru Hotel, Arusha. We were only there for about 8 hours, so difficult to provide an in-depth review. Well located in Arusha. Nice rooms. Lovely breakfast, with a lovely outlook over gardens/ golf course;
2. Tarangire Treetops Lodge. Incredible, intimate luxury in the bush. Beautiful lodges, views, butler service (Jonathan was excellent), delicious fireside meals, Maasai involvement (very touching Maasai ceremony performed for honeymooners), all built around a 500 year-old baobab tree. Out of this world. Marred only by the fact that the evening meal served to our guide Zadock was very poor (not right when guests are delivered such opulent food). Tarangire National Park is excellent. Relatively small, but beautiful, and with a good range of wildlife. Especially noted for its large elephant population;
3. Serena Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater. Breath-taking views of the crater (especially at sunset/ sunrise). More of a hotel than a lodge, so not as intimate as Treetops (the bench-mark). However, the food and service are very good. Ngoronogoro Crater is spectacular. Feels a bit like the Lost World. An ecosystem that is partially cut-off from the rest of Tanzania. Incredible range of wildlife in a small-ish contained space. Great opportunity to see the black rhino (one animal that is not abundant in Tanzania), and also to visit “more authentic” Maasai villages;
4. Kirawira Tented Camp. Right up there with Tarangire Treetops (although slightly less intimate). Lovely pool. Great lodges with fabulous views. A special mention to Charles for the service at meal times. The staff cannot do enough for their guests, and the food is exceptional. We visited this part of the Serengeti (Western Corridor) to see the great migration (which we did). Breath-taking;
5. Serengeti Serena Lodge, Seronera. Our only disappointing camp. The thatched huts are beautiful, and there are some nice little touches for honeymooners (e.g. crocodile made of towels and petals placed on your bed upon arrival). Also, a lovely pool. However, the service at mealtimes is indifferent, and the food at dinner was terrible. Also marred by loud and ignorant guests at an adjoining table (this lodge feels less intimate, with more packed common areas). We did receive an apology from the chef, and they did try to improve things at breakfast and with our lunch-box. Seronera itself is a good part of the Serengeti to spot wildlife, especially elusive leopards and cheetahs;
6. Fight back to Arusha, transfer to Kilimanjaro. Flight to Zanzibar.
