My Memorable Mara Experience
This was our first visit to the Mara with my adult children. Our able agent Kibe booked our party of four into the executive top glass cottages at the Jambo Mara Safari Lodge as per my request, and organized for a birthday suprise for one of us upon arrival to the rooms.
Our designated driver/guide Tony was friendly and pleasant throughout the trip, giving running commentaries enroute about landmarks and ensured that we got to see as much of the wildlife in the park while on the game drive.
All in all, it was lovely and memorable experience, even though we missed out on the wildebeest migration.
Efficient and friendly
The booking process was easy we used a great lady by the name Robi, and our reservation were sent on time. She was reachable by phone and tracked our arrival day and departure day. One of the hotels was not aware of our arrival day but a call to Robi and it was immediately sorted.

Brilliant, all of what I was expecting from a Safari.
The safari tour in the Masai maara was amazing. Evans (our guide) was smilly, very helpful, a safe driver and with good energy. Thanks to him, we saw most animals (lions, cheethas, rhino, hippos, crocodile, giraffe, elephants, impala, buffalos, zebras, antilopes etc) except leopards.
Regarding the living at Jambo Maara, The restaurant waiters are very nice but the other employees were not welcoming and seemed to be suscipious about us.
The communication via 'whatsapp to book the safari with Bonfire was not smooth. I could not get all the pieces of information I was requesting, so I had to wait to land in Nairobi to go to their office and get all the details I needed. Once at the office, everything was easier.

Mombasa was very good
We went to Mombasa with Sgr with my champ group. Our shuttle driver was very good and we saw a lot of Bonfire Vehicles at Sgr . Voyager was good choice of hotel .
Hamisi was a funny guy at the Sgr terminus.
We had wanted to be picked late but he warned us about traffic Jam. True to his word at Miritini there was a lot of traffic. If we didn’t take his word we could have gotten late. Bonfire we are planning Dubai now for the group.

Good for most parts
Driver picked us up from our accommodation in Nairobi but was 30 minutes late. Journey went well although very bumpy ride in the vehicle after Narok. We did call at Tuskys supermarket at Narok and stocked up with snacks and water. There was a pizza place in the mall but were told our lunch would be later. Lunch was a big disappointment and health risk. 700 KES each for a poor quality buffet with birds constantly pecking the serving spoons. We set off again and reached Masai Mara and our first game drive. We had 4 altogether over 3 days and we enjoyed them. We stayed at Mara Serena Lodge which was within Masai Mara park and it was a lovely hotel and food. The second day the driver told us 6am start but then turned up 30 minutes later and said it was 6:30am. He said we’d got the time wrong but all of use heard him say 6am. Everything else went smoothly. Our driver was Benard but I did wish we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle rather than an 8 seater minibus. Overall we did enjoy our Safari.

Smooth booking but tour guide was very unprofessional.
Booking process with Denise was very well done but this is just the tip of an iceberg to have an enjoyable safari.
Day one - our tour guide was extremely late. He advised us to arrive at pickup location at 6.30 am but didn't arrive till past 8am. Worse, we couldn't reach him on contact provided by Born Fire. The guides lack of professionalism was evident right away since he got into it with one of the tourists stemming from frustration of waiting on pickup.
I didn't feel safe riding on the Land Cruiser after the guide explained his late arrival was due to fact that he had arrived at Nairobi city same morning following a seven day tour from Mombasa

Good
Would like to thank Betty at the booking office. Our Driver Philip was one of a kind conversant with the Nairobi National Park, friendly and knows most of the animals characteristics as id working with the Park. Pick up w as on point. Thanks Philip and Betty. Thanks Bonfire adventures
poor communication and unprofessional
Almost impossible to send funds to reserve from overseas. Wanted to charge more for the lodge reservation the next day. In experienced driver didn't know the importance of vehicle position for photos. Very frustrating and no possibility of phone conversations, only email . AVOID
Finally high pressure sales around your vehicle and Maasi village to purchase their overpriced trinkets AVOID
