Amazing adventure
What a Fantastic Adventure we had at Tremisana Lodge/Viva Safari!
We quickly became a community of new & repeat guests, staff & guides. Each outing was unique in where we went, who was with us & which guides would accompany us to impart their tremendous knowledge of the animals on the quest for the big 5. Yes, we found them All & so much more along the way, up close & personal. The flora, fauna, sunsets & sunrises were absolutely gorgeous. We would gather at the patio with our new & newer friends for the most delicious, lovingly prepared meals (OMG the fried chicken & best buffalo pie in Africa). We shared our most recent spottings. stories, photos & contact info.
The facility was simply wonderful & the entire staff went above & beyond to make our stay most comfortable & memorable.
Thank you again - Ed, Mama D & all the ladies, Mark, Luke, V, Ray, Quint, Smiley & the entire staff for a once in a lifetime experience - WOW!!!

5 Star Company ! Fantastic
I recently got back from a seven day Safari Tour, and I couldn’t be happier. It was my first time going on safari and I’m very glad i picked Viva Safaris from getting picked up at my airport hotel in Johannesburg, to the beautiful lodge that i stayed in for the week, to the incredible Safari guides that where so helpful, and i learnt so much from.
everything it was fantastic!
Enjoyed the bush walk , 2 full days in Kruger , and so much more
We saw the big 5, As a wildlife photographer i was extremely happy with the shots i got and also the guides helping out to get great shots.
The Early morning drives and late afternoon and evening drives are perfect for photography.
They’re a very organised company and reliable , offering great communication and extremely great value for money.
Ill be back next year
Thank you and i highly recommend Viva Safaris

Structured and Entertaining
I had a wonderful time with Viva Safaris. It was very organized without much downtime. Which is great when you have limited time. The accommodations were lovely, the food was delicious, and I met lots of interesting people. I would book again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend if you don't want to self drive in Kruger!

Memorable
We had a fantastic time, Patricia who booked the trip for us was amazing! I choose her over the other operator's because I felt she was responsive, authentic, patient and helpful. I highly recommend this tour as you will have an immersive and fun experience. The food was delicious and plentiful and the guided tours provided interesting information and fun times. We saw many animals, which was so exciting. The value for the trip was well worth the money and economical. The staff and other people who were on the safari were all friendly and nice to be around. We would book another trip as we truly enjoyed this vacation! One of the best! and we really enjoyed staying at the lodge.

Excellent value for money0
I am waiting for my flight back to Australia so I now have the time to say Thank you - and to congratulate all your staff on a job very well done.
From initial contact, through handling payment issues due to technology, and collection from and delivery back to Johannesburg, everything went well.
I have to particularly recognise both Sonny 1 and Sonny 2 as my shuttle drivers. I felt much safer travelling with them than many other drivers throughout the world.
Tremisana was a perfect base and between there and Kruger I managed to see most of the animals I wanted to see in Africa. (My time in Botswana fortunately provided some great - and very lucky - photo opportunities for leopards, cheetahs and lions.)
The Tremisana Lodge staff and food were really good, as were the guides. The sunrise, sunset and armed bush walk were highlights.
A special thank you to Smiley. His day tour to Kruger NP was most enjoyable and very informative. He is a real personality and asset for the lodge.
All in all, an incredible experience and excellent value for money. I will recommend Viva Safaris without hesitation.

Very organized, professional safari- especially great for first timers
From the booking process to the final drop off Viva Safaris was a fantastic choice for my first safari. I did the 4 day, 3 night from Johannesburg tour. As a solo traveler it was nice to have different people on all the safaris and at the meals. But I was most impressed with the guides and staff. Their level of knowledge about the animals blew me away, and they took great care in trying to find as many animals as possible. Even the drivers to and from Joberg shared a wealth of information. Lodging was great, food was amazing. 10/10 experience!

Tour guides that really care!
I would highly recommend Viva Safari’s! The staff is super friendly and communicates well with any needs that may arise. The tour guides worked really hard to get as many animal sightings as possible.

Full on, fun and exciting experience
Very well organised - we were picked up from our hotel on time. Trf from Jo'berg to Tremisana does take most of the day, but you stop for lunch in a lovely little town, at a great restaurant. As soon as we arrived at the lodge, we were straight out on a sunset game drive, and then on to the bush bbq - make sure you wrap up warm for the drive (I'd recommend a hat, scarf and gloves if you can stand to take things like that on holiday!)
The next day was an early start for the sunrise drive, but then we had some chill out time during the day, which was much needed by that stage. Sunset drive was great, with a some drinks and nibbles, and a lovely lookout point to watch the sub go down.
The next two days were less hectic - sensible get up time for the approx 1 hour drive to Kruger, with full day drives on both days. The rest stop and restaurant is great - lots of choice on the menu.
Our final day was the drive back to Jo'berg, but via the Blyde River Canyon, which is spectacular. A real treat and a good opportunity to get some final souvenirs.
All of the rangers and guide were very friendly and knowledgable. Mama D is a legend - lovely food and they were able to cater for vegetarian and vegan needs in our group (although a couple of times the vegan dessert was a piece of fruit). Be mindful though - dinner is served quite late and then we tended to go straight to bed. That combined with being driven everywhere and I felt my waistline grow every day!
Accommodation at Tremisana is okay - a bit basic and nothing to write home about, but then you don't spend much time in your room anyway. The site itself is lovely, with a communal dining area (the Lapa) that overlooks a small clearing - we had hyenas and honey badgers there most evening and were treated to a full herd of elephants one morning.
Drinks are reasonably priced, as are the food prices in the rest stops in Kruger.
I'd really recommend this safari to anyone. 5 days seemed perfect to get the most from Kruger. We saw a few packs of lions and a couple of rhinos, as well as the usual elephants, giraffes, zebras etc. No leopard unfortunately - maybe next time?!
