Friendly & reliable services for individual travelers during our 12 day Rwanda tour
Just completed a 12 day tour of Rwanda/Uganda, organised by Golden Rwanda Safaris. Thank you so Much Frank B. Kanyamutara and your team for your professionalism!
We spent 2 of the 12 days in Uganda to see the gorillas with the rest of the time travelling around Rwanda.
Golden Rwanda Safaris were quick in answering questions we had regarding possible tours, including budget and type of activities we were interested in.
We were originally going to climb Mt Nyiragongo in DRC but this was not viable shortly after we booked the trip due to security concerns. Golden Rwanda Safaris offered a different hike as an alternative in Rwanda.
Our trip went incredibly smoothly from the outset with zero issues. This surprised me actually. We were in good hands our guide (Emile). We paid the money via their online payment gateway and needn't have bothered with caution really. We paid the final installment during the trip.
Our trip included:
Gorillas ( Rwanda & Uganda), Batwa pygmy Community (Uganda), Golden monkeys
Mt Bisoke hike, Visit to 2 cultural centers (Iby'iwacu), One day at Gisenyi (including boat ride), Chimps at Nyungwe, Nature walk + Canopy walk at Nyungwe, Couple of game drives and a boat ride in Akagera
If I were to do it again I would try to do gorillas in Rwanda (looks easier) even with the higher cost
Only go to one of the cultural centers if pressed for time.
It is very important for me to find reliable service providers while travelling, especially if I am travelling by myself. Three years ago, Golden Rwanda Safaris helped me get to the National Park in Uganda, Musanze and back to Kigali in a very efficient and uncomplicated way. Now back in Rwanda, they helped me in the same friendly and reliable manner -with very short notice! Thank you Golden Rwanda Safaris Tours for assisting me again.

Our guide/driver Jean Marie Kagaba is one of the best. He spent several days with us taking us through our stops in Rwanda and Uganda. He speaks multiple languages and is well connected with the vendors and establishments. Jean Marie far exceeded our expectations of a guide/driver. Their equipment (They took us in First car Toyota Land Cruiser, of course) was well maintained and clean. what I like mostly was Booking process, they have e-payment and you pay by either Debit or credit card and it become very useful us while we don't like to carry money and also reducing Bank transfer charges. high recommended they e-payment system. can't thanks enough Frank and Jacky from my initial contact.
During our 11 days trip to Rwanda to see the mountain Gorillas but Jean Marie Kagaba’s professionalism and expertise meant we got so much more than we expected. He is rightfully very proud of his country, the government and what they have achieved in 20 short years since the genocide. He was always punctual, informative, answered our hundreds of questions with good grace and was relaxed and cheerful throughout. If we go back to Rwanda we will definitely use GOLDEN RWANDA SAFARIS . Thank you so much.

Daylong safari in East Rwanda + week of business in Kigali
Frank and his team are dedicated, knowledgeable safari operators and city drivers.
We were given a comprehensive and laid-back safari tour, going this way and that, and thanks to Frank’s keen eye we spotted some rare sightings and were able to get up close and personal! Awesome!
We were in Kigali on business and after our one day off (our safari), we enlisted Golden Rwanda Safaris as our drivers for the remainder of our business trips all over the city. They know Kigali perfectly and are super easy-going.
Thanks to them we had a fantastic and successful trip to Rwanda.

A great game drive!
This tour was very professional! Frank was a great guide and I had so much fun learning about the animals and driving around to find them. The service was great, on time and everything was advertised perfectly. The communication was great and easy to coordinate! Highly recommend!

Always way above our expectations
First contact with Frank was easy and profesional.Frank understood exactly what we wanted and built up the entire safari for us. All planned visits and tour were perfeclty organized. Accommodations were outstanding and always well located.
All of this worked perfectly thanks to our guide Jean Claude who has been very professional with a perfect knowledge of all the places we went to. Jean Claude is probably the best ambassador of Rwanda in Rwanda. The entire Golden Rwanda team deserves your confidence.

Great experience
I went on a tour with Golden Rwanda completely by chance as I was attending a conference in Rwanda and a fellow conference attendee invited me to join her. She was far more prepared than I was, and had researched various tour operators thoroughly. I was very happy with her choice. Golden Rwanda Safaris is a small local company, but they do tours all over Rwanda and the surrounding countries. We ended up staying in Rwanda, spending a 1.5 days in Akagera national Park, (where we saw so many animals, including lions, hippos, impalas, giraffes, zebras, baboons, buffalo, elephants, warthogs etc). Seeing lions was theoretically the most exciting because they were introduced in the past few years from South Africa, but I prefer seeing the colorful animals (zebras, giraffes) and the more active ones (baffoons & impalas).
We had two separate guides for the two halves of our trip (Frank and Fabrice) and both were terrific, both on the trip logistics and also the wildlife. I enjoyed chatting with them and learning about their stories and Rwanda as much as I enjoyed the wildlife.
Note on gorillas: I was too stingy to pay $1500 for the gorilla permit in Rwanda, too scared to explore going to Congo, and permits were all gone in Uganda ($600) because I was literally looking for them the same week. However, the company arranges gorilla treks in all 3 countries and they assured me that Congo was safe for tourists. In the end, I'm very happy with the company and my trip :)
