Friendly & reliable services for individual travelers during our 12 day Rwanda tour
Just completed a 12 day tour of Rwanda/Uganda, organised by Golden Rwanda Safaris. Thank you so Much Frank B. Kanyamutara and your team for your professionalism!
We spent 2 of the 12 days in Uganda to see the gorillas with the rest of the time travelling around Rwanda.
Golden Rwanda Safaris were quick in answering questions we had regarding possible tours, including budget and type of activities we were interested in.
We were originally going to climb Mt Nyiragongo in DRC but this was not viable shortly after we booked the trip due to security concerns. Golden Rwanda Safaris offered a different hike as an alternative in Rwanda.
Our trip went incredibly smoothly from the outset with zero issues. This surprised me actually. We were in good hands our guide (Emile). We paid the money via their online payment gateway and needn't have bothered with caution really. We paid the final installment during the trip.
Our trip included:
Gorillas ( Rwanda & Uganda), Batwa pygmy Community (Uganda), Golden monkeys
Mt Bisoke hike, Visit to 2 cultural centers (Iby'iwacu), One day at Gisenyi (including boat ride), Chimps at Nyungwe, Nature walk + Canopy walk at Nyungwe, Couple of game drives and a boat ride in Akagera
If I were to do it again I would try to do gorillas in Rwanda (looks easier) even with the higher cost
Only go to one of the cultural centers if pressed for time.
It is very important for me to find reliable service providers while travelling, especially if I am travelling by myself. Three years ago, Golden Rwanda Safaris helped me get to the National Park in Uganda, Musanze and back to Kigali in a very efficient and uncomplicated way. Now back in Rwanda, they helped me in the same friendly and reliable manner -with very short notice! Thank you Golden Rwanda Safaris Tours for assisting me again.

Amazing wildlife safari with Golden Rwanda
We contacted Frank about our first trip to Rwanda. From the beginning, Frank was professional, responded quickly and as we were travelling during Covid always kept us updated with the latest measures and made us feel safe. Our whole experience from start to finish was fantastic.
When we arrived Frank sorted us with SIM cards and gave us a tour around Kigali. The next day we met our guide, Anacalet and went on our week adventure. Anacalet was such a passionate tour guide, first taking us to volcanoes to do our trek with the gorillas, then driving down to lake Kivu and finally stopping at Nyungwe National Park. In between, Anacalet would always tell us stories about Rwanda culture, life in Rwanda and how things have changed over the last twenty years.
It has been a pleasure to complete our first trip to Rwanda with Frank and Anaclet. Nothing is too complicated for Golden Rwanda. We both had so much fun and won’t forget the laughs, animals and interesting conversations we had a long the way.
We travelled to Rwanda after the Covid restrictions were lifted and can’t recommend Golden Rwanda enough to anyone looking to travel post covid. These guys are switched on and will make sure you have THE best experience while keeping safe.

A DREAM COME TRUE EXPERIENCE!
The owner of Golden Rwanda Safaris, Frank, exceeded our expectations. He gave us a superb itinerary which included Nyungwe Chimpanzee Trekking, Volcano National park, Gorilla, Monkeys & Akagera National park. Besides the breathtaking adventure of the chimpanzees, gorillas, and golden monkeys, we saw retriever monkeys. We were privileged and ecstatic to see elephants, giraffes, hippos, Zebras, waterbucks, pumbas, Nile crocodiles, an owl, and more. We experienced jungle, woodlands, swamps, lakes, and the Savannah.
Our guide and driver, Anaclet, was a wealth of knowledge and professionalism. There was a good mix of cultural activities including the King’s Palace, Inema Arts Center, and the Genocide Memorial in Kigali. We also went to Mount Kigali and did zip lining.
We highly recommend this established, locally-owned company. Golden Rwanda Safaris was always quick and conscientious to respond to inquiries and we would use them again. They worked within our budget and all accommodations were welcoming, spacious, spotless, and the service and food everywhere was excellent. The vehicles were cleaned everyday and they were comfortable and modern. We felt very safe during the COVID pandemic too.
We made the most wonderful memories in our hearts and on our cameras. A true trip of a lifetime.

Delightful
I was fortunate to chance upon Golden Rwanda Safaris and book my trip to the Virunga National park through them. I had opted for the Virunga Classic tour and Frank was in constant touch with me ensuring that all the papers were in order.
Liza who accompanied me from Kigali made sure of my transfer to park authorities on the DRC side after which the whole tour was nothing short of an adventure. I was picked up once the tour was complete and Liza managed to help me pick some souvenirs at a discount on my way back for which I will be ever grateful.

Amazing in every way!
From the very first contact with Frank and Golden Rwanda Safaris we have been treated with excellent professionalism, service and great hospitality. Our whole experience in Rwanda from Kigali, to Nyungwe national park trekking with Chimpanzees, to our relaxing stop at the beautiful Lake Kivu and final stop at the Volcanoes national park has been just fantastic. Above all expectations. Not only is Rwanda and its nature and wildlife one of the most exciting we have ever come across, but the people we’ve met along the way have been so friendly.
It was a blast to hang out with Frank on this journey! You can easily see his huge commitment to make your experience the absolut best, and the passion he puts into every detail. Noting is too complicated. And its all about the teamwork. It’s not difficult to understand why everyone along the way knows him and welcomes you with big smile. We had so much fun and we will never forget our interesting conversations, laughs and all the magical endangered animals we had the chance to meet during our trip. Superb service and impressive resourcefulness
Frank was immensely helpful and reliable in facilitating our trip to Akagera National Park from Kigali. He was able to create a package that catered to our specific needs. Never having been in Rwanda before, he took all headaches of organising and planning into his hands even when he didn't need to. He ensured he personally conveyed us to our destination and back, making sure we were catered to along the way i.e. asking if we want to stop for coffee, rest breaks, offering interesting stories about Rwanda and its parks. The drive was an experience in of itself thanks to Frank. I would highly recommend everyone use Golden Rwanda Safaris for all tourist activities in Rwanda.

From communication to the actual game drive in Akagera Park, Frank was very helpful. The tour itself was fantastic. We had a guide with us who was very familiar with the local wildlife and could answer any questions we had. Frank took his time on the drive, even doubling back for missed picture opportunities! He made the tour as memorable for us as he could. There was never a "drive them around and get done" attitude.
If you are planning a trip to any of the countries Frank conducts business in I highly recommend Golden Rwanda Safaris. He made our trip a most memorable one for my daughter and I.
