BEST EXPERIENCE, Exceptional Tanzanian Safari
5/5

3 day/2 night Safari to Chemka Hotsprings, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire NP. Most Affordable and best price for an outstanding experience!

Start to finish Mama Anna and her team at Tanzania Porcupine Additions were absolutely amazing, so friendly, very accommodating, and made you feel as if you were part of their family!

From the very beginning we were impressed! Website was professionally done and user friendly. Mama Anna was very responsive staying in good contact by text message/email the whole time we were planning the trip. She was also very accommodating catering the trip to our condensed schedule and Safari desires. She hand crafted us a wonderful experience, seeing some of the most famous areas of Northern Tanzania (Ngorongoro and Tarangire), getting off the beaten path (Chemka warm springs and local villages) and keeping it very personal/homey at every turn.

Our journey over the 3 days had zero hiccups. All transport, meals, and lodging were taken care of/coordinated by Anna/her team (and included in the price!). Making the trip so easy and not an ounce of stress!

Some of the highlights
Day 1: Chemka Warm Springs/Arusha

The water is so refreshing and the most gorgeous shade of blue! We spent the afternoon here after flying in relaxing/playing in the waters. Great fun for both adults and kiddos alike.
One of our favorite parts was that Genoan Monkeys climbed through the trees above us in clear sight while we floated in the water. So cool!
While there Annas children (who guided us, taught us some Swahili, and gave great history/insight to the area) took candid photos of us (at our request) while we swam in the water.
After the long day we were greeted by a home-cooked meal with beverage at Mama Annas restaurant and it was absolutely delicious!!

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
Again Anna hooked us up with all meals and a very knowledgeable guide as we took a Safari to the Ngorongoro Crater in search of the big 5.
While there our guide was able to get us close enough to see 3/5 of them. Cape buffalo, Rhinos at a distance, and some young male lions. Additionally we saw hippopotamus, baboons, and thousands of migratory zebra/wildebeast amongst others. Guide brought us a home-cooked meal to eat in the bush (again complimentary from Annas restaurant). After a long safari Anna arranged us a night stay at the Fig Tree Lodge with modern amenities (pool, beds, electricity, etc). Prior to bed we had another home cooked meal and time with a local guide (Abdul) who gave us a very knowledgeable/enciteful tour of the village of MtoWambu and its people.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park
This day was honestly the best day! Anna hooked us up with the best guide,Bakari, to Safari through Tarangire NP. Bakari was so knowledgeable, very friendly, and able to get us feet away from Lions, Baby lions, Giraffe, and Elephants. Highly recommend Bakari and Safarring through Tarangire NP. We were again able to see 3/5 of the big 5 here. Lions, huge herds of elephants, and cape buffalo. If you are looking for a place to Safari Id say Tarangire would be a top option. After a morning in the bush, Anna/Bakari arranged us another home cooked meal and then transport back to the airport.

Overall I would recommend Mama Anna and her team from Porcupine Expeditions to anyone! They were absolutely fantastic at every turn of our journey. And to note the most affordable option and I compared over 10 others in the area!

Absolutely unforgettable experience
5/5

I have no words to describe how this team treated us - not like tourists, but rather family members ❤️ Communication since the beginig has been exceptional: they’ve replied at 11:30 pm on sunday evening, answered all my questions, welcomed us at the airport at 4am - everything was incredible! Irene took care of everything and during the safari the whole experience was once in a lifetime - we saw so many animals, landscapes and our driver Niko was probably the best among the rest! The team also arranged transportation from Atusha to Moshi and basically took care of all the worries that we might have, so we could enjoy the experience in the best way possible! Super grateful for all the work they do and the way they treated us 🙏

An Exceedingly Perfect Safari Experience – Professional, Thoughtful, and Flawless

Our 5-day safari trip far exceeded all expectations! The ground service provided by the tour operator was impeccable, with every detail meticulously arranged, ensuring a completely hassle-free journey.

Despite our late-night arrival due to flight delays, the pickup staff greeted us warmly without any complaints. Throughout the trip, the team patiently adjusted our itinerary multiple times to accommodate flight changes and special requests—all without charging extra fees. Their customer-first attitude was truly heartwarming!

Our guide was incredibly experienced—not only was his driving smooth and safe even on rough terrain, but his deep knowledge of wildlife behavior also allowed us to observe lions, elephants, cheetahs, and many other animals up close. He even spotted some rare species! His professionalism and sense of responsibility made us feel completely at ease throughout the journey.

The chef was another delightful surprise! Despite the wilderness conditions, every meal was delicious—from fluffy pancakes at breakfast to perfectly grilled meats at dinner. He even customized dishes to suit our tastes.

In short, this tour operator’s professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made our African adventure unforgettable. If we ever go on safari again, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose them! Highly recommended!

Super warm and supportive tour company!
5/5

I went on a 2-night, 3-day safari in Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with my parents. We found out about Porcupine through a friend’s recommendation.
In short, it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. In the Serengeti, we saw the big cats—lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The most unforgettable moment was witnessing a hunting scene with a pride of female lions. Waiting patiently for them to start the hunt was the most worthwhile ten minutes I’ve ever spent—haha!
In the Ngorongoro Crater, we saw a true wildlife paradise. Compared to the Serengeti, the animals there seemed to live a more peaceful and relaxed life.
The price of the tour was very reasonable, even during the peak season. On the first night, we were able to relax in a luxury lodge, and on the second night, we camped in a tent. Although the weather was rainy, the sunrise from Simba Camp was absolutely breathtaking.
Thank you to Porcupine, as well as our guide and chef, for making this trip so special!

Above and Beyond. Attention to Detail. Friendly, and safe.
5/5

Anna went above and beyond to make sure I could get into an excursion last minute. She organized a two day trip to Nrongroro crater and Tarangire NP within an hour of me landing into Kilimanjaro Airport. A tremendous effort of hospitality was demonstrated she took care of everything and left me nothing to worry about. My transport was seemless and the driver Joshua was AMAZING, educative and a jokester. 10/10 experience if i come back to tanzania i will rebook with Anna.

Authentic and warm Tanzania, a real joy! Anna and her family welcomed us and pampered us so well!
5/5

We experienced extraordinary moments of sharing, laughter, discovering nature but also discovering the inner beauty of Tanzanians. We are not about to forget! From the first contacts Anna planned everything: at the airport, Joseph (the driver) and Juliana (Anna's daughter) were waiting for us to take us to the hotel, then, after a little rest they kindly showed us around Arusha. The next day we left for a 5-day safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) with Thomas, a very professional and experienced driver as well as Coco, a very good cook. Back, Anna organized a day for us at the Materouni waterfalls (+ visit to the coffee plantation, swimming in the natural pool), a day that we shared with Yrine, Philip and Joseph; then the last morning we were taken back to the airport. We flew to Zanzibar leaving a piece of our hearts in Arusha!
