Hands down the best 15 day safari with kind, professional, knowledgeable Camptrek Safaris!
Our 15 day safari in Kenya and Tanzania was absolutely fantastic!!! Even though I read the overview and saw all the pictures, I really had no idea what I was in for. We had 7 people, 2 jeeps and WOW what a dream!!! First of all, John put together an amazing schedule and is so kind, professional and knowledgeable. It really wasn’t just a Safari as I had imagined… it was meeting so many kind people, learning about their culture, seeing and learning about the animals up close from guides with so much knowledge and getting excited from their excitement for what we were seeing! Elephants, 3 types of giraffes, 2 types of zebras, wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, leopards, pumbas, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, baboons, hyenas, monkeys, all kinds of birds, water buffalo, acacia trees and baobab trees (tree of life)….just wow. All of our guides were the best! Thank you John, Anthony, Eric, Good Luck, Hamisi, and Anthony #2! The first day we went to an elephant orphanage and giraffe center, then off we went to Samburu, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara (and did the unforgettable sunrise hot air balloon/ breakfast), Serengeti, Tarangire and Amboselli National Parks. We got to learn and meet people from the Masai, the Hedzabe (nomadic) and the Datoga (blacksmith) tribes. The places we stayed were just terrific, I can’t say enough. And honestly, I was worried if there would be decent food for me as a vegan. Well there were so many options and very delicious! They accommodate for anyone’s dietary needs everywhere we went. It was such a beautiful trip. We were sad to say goodbye to what felt like family. Camptrek Safaris is the best and I would recommend them to anyone going on safari!

Action-packed
If you are after the ultra pro max of game drives, you’ve met your match. Being the F1 fanatic he is, Steve lives on a motto of the efficient and effective. Your game drives will be on 1.5x speed but don’t be fooled, his 50/20 vision will spot things not visible to the naked eye. If you aspire to be the Pokémon master of safari, you’ll be sure to catch them all with Steve and have the best time while at it. He’s also so knowledgeable about the animals and the routes which made for an action-packed experience. We were so sad to depart with him and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Responsible tour operator who will deliver a great safari experience!
Before selecting Camptrek, we approached quite a few different tour operators and Camptrek offered us the most value for the quotation.
We started off the tour in Kenya with Steven, covering Samburu, Lake Nakuru and Naivasha and Maasai Mara. Steven was enthusiastic with a great eye and made sure we got to see the special 5, ugly 5, big 5, all within the first week. It was really exciting chasing the animals and beautiful sunsets with Steven.
Our second guide was Titho who was witty and humorous, a safe driver who filled our trip with quizzes about the animals as we navigated through serengeti, ngorongoro, and tarangire.
At the last leg of our trip back in Kenya, Eric who had the burden of impressing us after we’d seen so many animals, he still managed to wow us with the magnificent sight of 16 lions feeding and the roar of a protective mother lioness.
It was a great once in a lifetime experience, big thanks to all our guides and Camptrek!

Professional from the first minute
From the moment I contacted John I felt in very good hands, we had a spontaneous call were he answered all my questions directly. Together we brainstormed about the route and with John’s valuable input we decided to go for a 8 day safari with a final drop off in Diani Beach.
We were received by John and Anthony (our driver) right after landing in Nairobi at the airport at 4am.
We then directly headed to Masai Mara.
Anthony was an excellent driver and guide we always felt very safe.
The Sopa lodges in Mara and Lake Nakuru were outstanding and also Kibo in Amboseli was perfect.
Due to Anthony’s great experience in spotting animals we already saw 4/5 big five animals on the first two days. The following days were also very successful and exciting.
A big thank you to Anthony and John for this unforgettable experience. I will definitely recommend Camptrek safaris to my family and friends.

Excellent communication, highly flexible and amazingly professional/friendly
Amazing safari experience. From the start, John was extremely helpful with creating an itinerary that suited our needs. At the last moment, we had some flight issues that led to a delay, but the Camptrek Safaris Team was highly flexible to arrange alternative arrangements. This was beyond what we would normally expect from a touring company.
Our guide, Jackson, was highly knowledgable about the flora and fauna throughout the safari as well as Kenyan culture and history. We are lucky to have had him as our guide. He was available from the very start until drop off at the airport late in the evening. His professionalism, friendliness and hospitality were amazing.
Thank you John and Jackson for giving us such an amazing experience! I would recommend Camptrek Safaris to anyone considering a safari in this region.

My husband and I went on Camptreks 10 day Kenya and Tanzania safari in September 2023. We had an amazing time and highly recommend CampTrek for their professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. From before our trip John was extremely helpful with any questions and prompt with any communications. Our drivers were exceptionally knowledgeable, trustworthy and most importantly just great friendly people. The accommodation probably exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t put anything to fault.
