I lost trust in Cedarberg before the trip even started
I am a Luxury Travel Advisor in Canada and personally spend 90 days in S Africa every year. I have traveled to 100+ countries and l just love S Africa and all it has to offer. I worked with Cedarberg to arrange a trip for 3 couples, Golf, Kruger, Cape town and the Garden Route. I found the agent I worked with to be very difficult and lost trust during the planning stages. My clients are very important so I was very concerned with the supplier that I selected for their trip. In general their trip was good however there was a big lack of communication, overcharges and hotel downgrades which was never communicated to me until I met with my clients on the last week of their trip. My clients finished their trip and it took me 2 months to finally have Cedarberg refund the clients for the hotel downgrades which was over $600. In 20+ year of selling luxury travel I have never had such a difficult time with a supplier.

I am very sorry that this booking did not meet the standard of communication and smooth service that you, your clients, and we ourselves would expect from Cedarberg Africa. We have been in operation for over 30 years and we have never had a bad review this this, so we take it very seriously.
I have reviewed the file personally and accept that some aspects of the handling of this booking should have been better, particularly around email communication and follow-up with you, the travel advisor. As owner of the company, I take full responsibility for that.
I am glad to understand that the clients enjoyed much of their trip, but I fully appreciate that the planning and post-trip refund payment caused frustration for you as their advisor. That is not the experience we want any travel agent partner to have.
There were several factors involved in the final refund amount, including an initial overpayment on the part of the client, last minute changes to golf arrangements, and one hotel change where we accept that we should have handled matters better. We had agreed that the initial refund would be after the client had travelled, just in case there were other last minute changes. However, regardless of the breakdown, the process took longer than it should have, and I am sorry for that.
We have taken this seriously and have reviewed internally what should have been handled differently, especially around clearer communication. I am sorry that your experience with us was disappointing, and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from it. I have sent an email to you privately as well.

Flawless service provided for an amazing trip
I found this company through a search engine- wanted a group based in South Africa. From the first email the agent ( Milandi) and I were on the same wavelength. Our safari was with Savanna Private Game Reserve ( a not for profit outfit) and it exceeded our expectation- extraordinary hosts/guides/trackers/ staff- wonderful food in a beautiful setting and fabulous accommodation with every little touch. Unusual game sightings- able to go off road made a big difference
My experience with Cederberg was flawless- all drivers were prompt and knowledgeable- all documents given in a timely manner- a pleasure working with this company

Seamless
We all had an excellent time and wished we could have stayed much longer. There were no problems at all except for the children fighting over which beautiful bed to sleep in. I will not hesitate to recommend Cedarberg.
All the accommodation and activities exceeded our expectations. Would have liked to have spent more time at the various accommodations but we were too busy!!
We enjoyed our stay at Muchenje in Botswana the most. An extra couple of days here would have been blissful.
We had seamless holiday. Great advice and great service.

Unforgettable family adventure through Cape Town and the Sabi Sand Savanna Private Game Reserve
Our trip to South Africa was flawless and the vacation of a lifetime! Cedarberg African Travel was a delight to work with each step of the way as they initially listened to our wishes and then designed a holiday around our active family. Milandi and the Cedarberg team not only planned each detail but also gave us helpful tips in advance to help us prepare for our holiday. Once in SA, there was never a need to contact Cedarberg because each day's activities went off without a hitch. We started with the Cape peninsula tour, then the hike up Table Mountain followed by the Cape wine area. We then flew to the Savanna private game reserve for an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Cedarberg and will certainly be passing their name on to our friends. While the entire holiday was memorable, our favorite has to be the safari at Savanna. The game drives with Neil and Julius are forever in our memory and will stay a part of our dreams. The encounters with the leopards, lions, elephants and all the animals changed how we see the world and our responsibility to care for our environment. The accommodation, meals and service at Savanna was first class. The small number of guests allowed for a friendly and family-like quality. Also, the hike with Jeremy of AWOL tours was superb. He gave us a choice of hikes but challenged us to do the more difficult hike with some "scrambling" up the rocks. He was there at every turn to compliment, encourage or coax us up the mountain. He even prepared a lactose-free lunch for my husband. The weather was outstanding and Jeremy even spotted a caracal (which must be rare from the excitement on his face). The order of the trip, starting in Cape Town and ending on safari, was perfect as it took us a day or so to wrap our heads around being in Africa. We happily endorse Cedarberg Travel and will be recommending them to all our friends.

We had the trip of a lifetime! Thank you so much to Milandi and everyone; guide, camp employees, and everyone we encountered for their professionalism, their genuine concern for our needs and for their desire to make everything perfect! Our accommodations were excellent, food was wonderful.
We especially loved the Kati Kati Camp on the Serengeti. We were there two nights and would plan on three nights if we went again.
Be prepared for dusty roads and bring an adequate supply of electrical converters. :) My wife wished she had had a scarf for her hair. :)

The information I was given by Cederberg Africa was very informative and the places they recommended were fantastic. Sanctuary Baines and Sanctuary Chief Camps were fantastic, from the location, accommodation to the staff.

Cedarberg Africa helped us plan a honeymoon beyond our wildest dreams!
When my then-fiance said I could pick our honeymoon destination, I knew we had to visit the country at the very top of my bucket list - South Africa. I first reached out to two travel agencies close to home, and asked them to put together an itinerary based on our budget. I was worried because we were wanting to travel during the peak season, but it was still incredibly disappointing when they both came back and told me we could only afford an week-long trip, assuming we stayed in very low budget accommodations. Just when I was about to give up hope, my mom found a post on a local neighborhood bulletin from someone saying they'd just gone on the most outstanding African vacation, and they wanted to recommend their travel agent: Sonja Brand at Cedarberg Africa. I reached out to her, my last hope, and crossed my fingers...
Long story short: Cedarberg Africa helped us plan a honeymoon beyond our wildest dreams! We hopped all around the country for 14 nights, and each property was stunning, luxurious, and staffed with the most wonderful people who truly made us feel spoiled each and every day. My husband and I agree this was the best vacation we've ever taken (and I consider myself a relatively well-traveled individual), and we cannot wait to plan our next South African adventure down the road, with the help of Cedarberg Africa, of course!

An effortless trip of a lifetime
The communication was so easy. We were supplied with so many options for our budget and suggestions for when it would be worth splurging if we could. We decided to splurge for Ngala Tented Camp for our Safari experience and it was everything we could have ever imagined and more. We were so happy with every single detail. Milandi even helped us book dinner reservations and everything was truly great. The honeymoon that was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime is now just merely dubbed our first trip to Africa. We will definitely use Cedarberg Africa again!

Over a period of 10 years, we have received outstanding service and experienced memorable holidays.
We don't tend to use travel agents to organise our holidays but an old family friend introduced us to Mari Jacobs at Cedarberg and during the past 10 years, she has organised and delivered 4 memorable holidays for groups varying in size from 4 to 11 people. We have travelled in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia and the arrangements have been seamless. Mari is efficient and responsive - and on the one occasion when we weren't happy with our accommodation, she moved us in a flash. Now that's the hallmark of a great travel agent. We wouldn't consider using anyone else to organise our African holidays and we continue to recommend Mari / Cedarberg to anyone expressing interest.

A Dream Trip
Everything was expertly run. We did not have to worry about any of the arrangements as everything went according to plan. All the charter flights were exactly on time, when a flight was scheduled for 9:10 a dot in the sky would appear at 09:00 and land exactly on time! Every staff was professional and helpful. We enjoyed every different place we stayed in. The accommodations were excellent, comfortable and clean. I had dietary challenges and had no trouble getting the food I needed. The guides were all very friendly, helpful and made sure safety was a top priority and yet got us where we needed to be to get the best pictures possible. I have many Good memories and would not change a thing! I definitely would recommend this travel service to anyone wanting and excellent carefree holiday adventure.
