Poor communication
Unfortunately our experience with Habitat and especially Goodluck Kombe was not as positive as everyone here describes it. This has certainly spoilt our once in a lifetime Safari experience and here is why…
We enquired about a safari itinerary in May 2025, based on a recommendation of someone who went on Safari with Goodluck as a guide. This was a special trip for my husband 65th birthday.
After receiving 2 quotes (one for mid range and one for high end), we decided on the high end itinerary, this included Habitat organising the internal flights for us. We had no changes/special requests for the initial quote. We paid the deposit and we have not heard anything from Habitat until August when they followed up on the 2nd payment. Again, we paid and we have not heard anything more. A week before our scheduled safari started, Goodluck followed up on the last payment and I requested if we can pay by card on arrival (due to the high amount), and he agreed.
This is where it all started to go wrong:
Upon arrival in Arusha, I was ready to pay the balance by card, as agreed with Goodluck before travelling. I got greeted by one of his employees but he did not have a POS and said that he’d send me a link to pay online. We headed to our first destination and that evening I received an email from Goodluck telling me he was expecting cash on arrival and that I put other people’s dream holidays at risk by not paying Habitat. After pointing out that he agreed for me to pay by card on arrival, I paid the remaining balance online that evening.
The next morning I received another email from Goodluck telling me that I only paid 50% and I still owed them $5k. You can imagine the panic, stressing out where the money disappeared. Finally, later that day he confirmed that he received the full amount but I still owed them $18 for his bank fees (if he wanted the client to pay his bank fees, he should have included it in the quote) – I passed $18 cash to our designated guide.
He also mentioned that their sales manager underquoted me by about 10% of the total cost (!!!) and initially asked if I can contribute anything towards this amount, the next day he said Habitat will absorb this cost. It is not very nice to ask a client, on their first day of the trip, to pay for your employee’s mistakes.
Initially (in May) we were told our internal flights were with Auric. We made arrangements based on the times of these flights. The week before travelling, we received tickets for Flightlink for different times and even different days!!! This unfortunately had a negative impact on our plans travelling back to Dar Es Salaam at the end of the safari.
The initial (May) itinerary included 4 different hotels. During the safari we realised that 3 out of the 4 hotels were changed and we were never informed about these changes. I am sure that the hotels were same quality as the initially communicated ones but it was not nice not to know where you’ll be staying and only find out when you pull up at the hotel.
On the positive note is that our guide was amazing and made the rest of the trip enjoyable.
Goodluck never asked how was our safari experience at the end of the trip…

Goodluck Kombe was superb!
We just finished the most amazing trip to Tanzania. We visited Arusha, Tarangire Park, Ngonogoro crater, and the Serengeti with Goodluck as our guide. He was extremely communicative before we arrived and flexible with creating our itinerary. He met us at the airport and shepherded us through the entire 8 day visit. He is so knowledgeable, warm, and funny. It was an incredible experience. I highly recommend Goodluck and Habitat Adventures .

The most special and exceptional trip
From the moment we decided to book our honeymoon with Habitat Adventures Travel the communication was excellent from the team. When I initially reached out to them I received a personalised itinerary within a few hours which included the entire cost breakdown and a description of exactly what each day would include and what accommodation we would be staying in. This made the booking process very easy. We booked a 7 day luxury honeymoon safari. Any question I had prior to our trip was answered promptly from Mangia from the office team, and any query was sorted out extremely promptly. The team were easily contacted via email and WhatsApp.
We arrived at the airport and were greeted by a driver who took us to our first hotel - Meliá Arusha. This transfer was organised by the company and was smooth. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were met by Mangia and Cornelia who presented us with a beautiful personalised wedding gift from the company and gave us the safari brief. We were blown away by such a warm welcome and we felt incredibly welcomed to Tanzania.
The following day we met our guide, Fredy, at the agreed time in the hotel lobby. Fredy was our safari guide throughout our trip and words cannot describe how good he is at his job. His knowledge and passion for wildlife was inspiring. Fredy went out of his way to ensure we had the most special experience. He was so professional in every way and nothing was ever too much trouble. His English was exceptional and he was also great fun. Fredy met us every morning with a smile and his energy and excitement for our game drives was fantastic. Fredy took us around the national parks including Serengeti, lake Manyara and Ngorongoro and we managed to see not only the big 5 but also 7 cheetahs! Fredy knew exactly what routes to take in order for us to have the best chance of seeing as many animals as possible. We could not have imagined a more special experience and by the end of the trip we felt like friends. Fredy left us to the airport and even took us to see a local art centre to bide some time when our flight was unexpectedly delayed. He even waited until we got through security before leaving to ensure everything went to plan.
We stayed in 3 hotels during our stay - Meliá Arusha, Kilimamoja Lodge and Four Seasons Serengeti. All 3 properties exceeded our expectations. Meliá was clean, comfortable and of a high standard in Arusha. Kilimamoja was in a superb location with breathtaking views and exceptional service from the staff. Four Seasons in Serengeti was unforgettable, with views of the animals from our rooms and from the restaurant.
The food we had during our trip was great, the food in all of the restaurants was excellent and the packed lunches we had on safari were also of very high quality.
In terms of value for money I couldn’t recommend this trip highly enough. For what we received in this trip I think it was extremely good value for money. The price was reasonable particularly given the luxury hotels we were staying in, game drives all day every day, and all of our meals. There were no hidden costs.
Overall - if you are thinking of booking with Habitat Adventures Travel - do not hesitate, book now! A company which is reliable, trustworthy and genuinely cares about its guests. We will never forget our experience!!

Exceptional in every way
From start to finish this safari tour with Habitat adventures was nothing short of exceptional. The friendly nature of all the staff put us at ease having travelled a long distance from Ireland to begin our safari. We were collected at the airport promptly and taken to our hotel. We were welcomed warmly by Godslove and Cornelia as we arrived and had a quick review of our itinerary. As it was our honeymoon we were presented with a personalised gift from Habitat adventures which was both extremely kind and thoughtful. When our safari began we met with our safari guide Fredy. We can't begin to describe how professional and attentive Fredy was as a tour guide. Any small request that we had was no problem. His English was excellent. His knowledge of the animals and the parks that we visited was unbelievable. He was great fun and made our trip even more special than we could have imagined. Communication with Habitat was straightforward and very prompt via email and WhatsApp. The hotels we stayed in included Meila Arusha, Lake Kilimamoja Lodge and 4 seasons Serengetti. Each was amazing and places we would definitely stay in again. In terms of value for money you will not find a safari better than what habitat adventures have to offer. They are reliable and provide an excellent safari adventure. We will definitely be booking with them again in future!

This is the very best tour in Tanzania. The tour operator is the best. Tours are educational, fun,
I have been to Africa many times, and to 7 different countries. I've been with many tour operators, and no one is as good as Habitat Adventures Travel. They are the most knowledgeable. Each of the employees are lots of fun, good humored, and engaged with the guests each and every day. Each time I go with them I see more animals than any other tour group provides. I had a request for specific animals on this trip, and they found every one of them for me. Accommodations were fabulous, food was the best, and the entire group was excited and happy all 17 days that we spent with Habitat Adventures. There was some trouble with the airline, and Habitat Adventures stepped in and help solve the issues. Service was exceptional. The price was less than other companies and the service was better than any company I've previously traveled with. They did not rush us. Each of the guests had special requests, and every request was met. They gave us insights into the habitat, information about each animal, discussed historical information about the Ngorongoro Crater and Caldera. The company arranged for us to go to Oldupai Gorge, where we visited the museum, had a lecture with the curator, and we actually visited a working site. I will never travel with an inept company again. I've found the best in the business. I will travel with them again and again. I am very happy.

Excellent tour agents with very reasonable price
The tour guide is like one of your best friends in Tanzania, very friendly and trying his very best to make you feel comfortable in Tanzania. At the same time, very professional in safari with sufficient knowledge about the animals and the wild life. He is also very helpful and caring, understanding our needs and trying to enrich our tour.

Fantastic
Being Born in Africa , I was bit sceptical about the whole tour from the beginning and extremely cautious. But after Meeting with the tour agent who Gave Us a thorough debrief of what to come in the coming days, I started to relax we started our tour in Arusha national Park which was a nice slow start to get warmed up , and finished at Ngorongoro Crater from Serengeti for wild life and national park and I can’t wait explain the feeling.
Though it wasn’t as easy as people think, it was very advantageous to Us to have a knowledgeable tour guide who almost had a great knowledge of animal movement and best time to be in some places other than just following the crowd of Jeeps in the Parks. we managed to spot all the Big five during our tour. Some as close as a metre from the car which was a dream come true. The accommodation was equally as good in most of the places though Serena in Lake Manyara was not our choice, I would not recommend for a younger demographic traveler, Four seasons in Serengeti was incredible as well and the hotel in Arusha. All in all I would Highly recommend Habitat Adventures travel. In addition our tour guide has a safety first mindset on the roads and the parks which was very reassuring as some companies had cars driving like crazy and we overtook half of them stuck by the side of the road with breakdowns.

Incredible Safari Adventure!
We had a great Safari experience with Habitat Adventures Travel! The trip was well organized and easy to plan with the company. Each accommodation we stayed in was clean and had great food. Our tour guide Dominic was full of knowledge. He knew so much about the parks and the animals. We learned a lot from him each and every day. We would recommend this trip and company to anyone!

Experience counts!
This was our second time to Tanzania and we sought out Goodluck Kombe again to arrange a custom safari - we trust his knowledge and experience. Part of our group had flight cancellations that Goodluck was able to problem solve to make sure they got back back home when they planned.

Unforgettable experience with a personalised and professional touch
I was very impressed with all the service we received from Habitant Andentures Travel.
When we started organising the trip Kombe was amazing in accommodating all our needs ( length of stay, budget constraints, areas we wanted to visit, accomodation).
We experienced the same excellent service when we visited Tanzania. The guides we had were well organised and very prepared for all the excursions we did.
The safari was amazing. We visited Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Tarangire National Parks. All were an unforgettable experience. The lodges we stayed were all very clean with good food and good service. The guide at our safari, Joel, was the best. Polite, caring, and very professional made our trip unforgettable.
