Unprofessional
My experience with Tegu Tours and Safari could be sum up as follows.
My girlfriend and I booked a tour with:
- afternoon game drive the first day: didn’t happen;
- a Jeep: there wasn’t, there was a van
- 2 full days in Mara, we spend half of the second stuck into a savana because of the van;
- in the morning of the second day we started at 9am safari and not a 7am;
- the second Mara day we were with a new first group and we did the same things of the first day, wasting our money and time;
- the second day at Mara they put us in danger because the driver didn’t call the ranger to rescue us and we were on the grass after the park was closed (illegal) and we got split up without knowing when we were going to see each other again (very worried) because we were in Africa and we had to rely on people who were not transparent at all;
- the second night we booked Lenchada Camp, we were forced to go to a different accomodation because our reserved tend was given to other clients;
- they weren’t able to switch us in a Jeep although there was availability;
- we were treated disrespectfully and unprofessionally by the staff of this company during all the vacation.
After 4 days with these disrespectful people we changed company and we kept going our trip perfectly, enjoying the beauty of this magic country.
Don’t compromise your holiday, don’t book with Tegu Tours.

Posted on Aug 26, 2024Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We deeply regret that your safari did not meet your expectations and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you faced.
We are sorry to hear about the issues with the afternoon game drive, the vehicle provided, and the delays in starting your safari. We understand how frustrating it must have been to spend part of your trip stuck in the savanna and to repeat activities on the second day. Additionally, we apologize for the safety concerns and the accommodation mix-up at Lenchada Camp.
On the issue of the 2nd full day at Maasai mara it is usually for tracking animals just like the other 1st full days.
Late pick up on the second is because of the distance in accommodations. Your accommodation was far away from others and that was the cause of the delay. Sorry for the late pick up.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your safari. Your satisfaction is important to us.
We strive to provide the best possible experience for our guests, and your feedback helps us improve.

Unreliable organization!
The worst company I ever dealt with in my life! My boyfriend and I decided to organize our safari tour across the Masai Mara, Nakuru/Naivasha and Amboseli with Tegu Tours and it was a total mess. We booked a group tour with a Land Cruiser, but in the exact moment we arrived at the office to finalize the payment we were informed that due to a strike our car was not available anymore… We were forced to go with a minivan which made our experience totally different! Most of the schedule and the accommodations were not respected (loosing also money of parks entrance fees without compensation of any kind) and we faced a dangerous situation being stuck with the van in the mud for 4 hrs at nighttime inside the park!
We went on a tour without being informed at least of the company name the drivers were working for and we felt treated disrespectfully and unprofessionally by the staff of this company during all the vacation.
For these reasons we at half of our journey we changed the organization, losing more money and having nothing paid back.
Avoid dealing with Tegu Tours and look for serious and reliable company, they are not trustworthy!

About the Jeep the situation what happened we had anti government protest whereby the group you supposed to join cancelled due do demos the only available group was using safari which you paid for. we apologize for the stuck in savanna and that will never happen and as never happened before. we went a had as a company and did a up grade of the hotel from budget to midrange at lake Nakuru also transport by jeep without any additional cost so that you can have better experience.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your safari. Your satisfaction is important to us.

Once in a lifetime experience
Amazing experience with the world’s best guide Benson. The team of porters and the cook were also really helpful and caring. Since we were two girls climbing the mountain alone, we always felt safe.
The Chogoria Route was very scenic and doable for two normally fit people.
The only downside was the lack of information provided prior to the hike (regarding pick up time, transport to the mountain, facilities on the mountain), but when we asked the tour operator we almost always got an answer. However, once we got to the mountain everything seemed very well organised and went smoothly.
I would recommend this to everyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience!

It is a reliable operator
Very well organized tour
Excellent driver Charles who took us to see lots of animals. He went above and beyond to give us a good experience.
We booked budget accommodation. We didn't sleep in the places which were told originally but I believe what we got it was the same value.
Some tents had warm water and electricity only between certain hours which was a bit inconvenient: apeox 8pm till 7am. Not hot water for budget.
We had 6 days safari starting from Nairobi: Masai Mara, Nakuru, Niwasi, Amboseli. I was expecting to see Tsavo West on last day. On last day we did nothing but straight travel back.
If you plan to pay with credit card once you arrive in Kenya, we were told that it is possible. It is true bit there is 5% fee for each payment which we were not aware. Keep this in mind.
Overall it was a good experience. I totally recommend this tour operator and I can definitely come back with him.

We had the best trip in Africa.
We booked a safari tour for six days for two with Tegu Tours and safaris, they picked us from the hotel in nairobi, our guide was Moses and he was very informative and showed us all the animals and good landscapes. request for Moses to be your driver, you'll enjoy it alot
The accommodations were good so the food, I would recommande to go for 4 as minimum so you could see all the big five,
Without forgetting to mention that payment was quite easy and affordable.
Best trip we had in Africa so far,
Merci.

The safari tour was ok. Except the roads are in very bad shape now, lots of bumps and dust.

Experience of a Lifetime
The safari was an incredible experience that everyone should do once in their lives. I highly reccomend a trip to both Masai Mara and Nakuru as it allows for the best opportunity to see all of the big 5. Additionally, 4 days was the perfect amount of time to see everything and not feel like we missed anything. We had great guides/ drivers throughout including at the Masai village. I rated 4 stars instead of 5 for the slightly unorganized logistics (we switched tour guides/drivers and vehicles 3 times) and lack of notice that there would be no outlets in our tents at the first accommodations (it made charging our phones, our only cameras for the trip, very difficult). Overall, we had an amazing time and I would reccommend everyone have this experience.

Good safari
We had a very good safari because we were lucky enough to be able to observe many animals, including the big five, in an exceptional setting and with our guide Francis at the top.
Too bad the transport times are so long, but the service provider has nothing to do with it.
