Amazing team!!!
We, a group of 14 travellers have had an amazing 10 days Kenyan safari, from Nairobi to Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu and Meru..
The planning was kind of last minute which meant not necessarily being able to secure the requested accommodation based on the size of our group and it being the peak season. However, the team, Matt, Hilda and Albert is able to walk us through, discuss and decide on the full itinerary with everything which we have requested.
The 3 safari guides/drivers, Sami, Charles and Joe allocated to us were nothing short of amazing too. Very helpful, very knowledgeable and with very sharp eyes locating the animals and we were so fortunate to catch the Big Five.
Overall we had a very memorable trip because everything was executed very well by the entire team.
Tapestry Of Africa, thank you for a wonderful time.

Best customer service, they really care
I booked the 14-day private safari in January 2025 in Kenya for my gf and I probably around 6-7 months in advance. I've used Safaribookings before for a 2 day safari in Tanzania. However, Tapesty of Africa had like 5 reviews at the time so it was a bit of gamble. I reached out for a quote and got a reply from Mathew pretty quickly on Whatsapp. Whilst they didn't have a lot of reviews, after chatting for a bit, I just had a good feeling about it.
He sent over the details for the first deposit (25%) and after EXCESSIVE googling on him, the company, the dental outreach foundation tied to it, I was ready to commit. To be fair, the months leading up to it, I did get a lot of update emails and also messages from the team which assured me of the legitimacy but you never know. They said they needed the deposits to start locking in some accommodations ahead of time which makes sense. I also called some of these places maybe 2-3 months in advance (prior to making further deposits) to make sure my money wasn't going into a black hole and it checked out so all good.
I just wanna give them props for the service leading up to the trip as they made sure we we're up to date on what to pack, how to apply for a visa, what vaccinations we needed and so on. The itinerary itself was customisable, we made a few changes during the planning phase. I wanted a mix of mid-to-luxury and truth be told it ended up being more on the luxury end (to our surprise).
We had a wonderful guide, Sami, that spent 2 weeks with us and was very chill and knowledgeable. During the safari itself, the Tapestry team checked in every now and then to see how we we're doing. They helped arrange a nice bday dinner for us as well as take into account whatever it was that we thought was important regarding accommodation.
Initially we said that if it's just one night in park, it can also be a simple camp to sleep in and if it's several nights we'd like something nicer. It was mostly always on the nicer end :)
My only recommendation to anyone booking is to rather to less park and spend a few nights in one place as it means that (1) you get to enjoy the facilities more, and (2) less packing. Though I also don't regret we got to see some 8-9 different parks during 2 weeks.
We we're picked up directly in Nairobi and ended our trip in Diani for a few more beach days on our own. The Tapestry team, especially Hilda, was so accommodating that she even offered to help with things post-safari e.g set up transfers to the airport or set up visits to Giraffe Centre in Nairobi or Sheldrick.
Anyways, when booking this long in advance I was sure this was gonna be a gamble considering the company had just been recently set up but in hindsight I can honestly confirm it was all SO worth it. It was truly a trip of a lifetime. And yes, I can and would highly recommend them for a safari. And no, this is not some AI written review :D, you're welcome to check "Safari Kenya" under my highlights on insta @henrilempu.
I know choosing a safari operator is tough and feels like a gamble. I can't vouch for any other company as I haven't tried them but I'd sure book my next safari with Tapestry again!
