Greatest Ethiopian Tours
The service provided was exceptional, worth a visit alone for that. Eshetu the guide went above and beyond during my journey to Danakil Depression and also our guided tour around Addis Ababa. The scenery and history about each area was extremely interesting and every day brought something new and exiting. The value for money is great, providing great meals, unique opportunities and hospitality that you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Eshetu provided an incredible service not only on the trips, but also personally driving me to my hotel and night in Addis Ababa when my arranged transport failed to show. I would recommend this company to anyone visiting any parts of Ethiopia.

The best choice to visit Ethiopia
We (me and my girlfriend) can only say that we had the best experience. Our expectations were surpassed. Our guide tours were taking care of us every minute, and so gentle all the time, they took care of every detail to make sure our experience was the best, and made us feel as a family. If you are coming to Ethiopia this is the best choice, you wont regret it.

Outstanding experience
I had an incredible experience with Ethio Top Land Tours, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. My tour and driver, Eshetu and Tamerate, truly went above and beyond in every way.
I booked the tour just two hours beforehand and was immediately contacted, which set the tone for how responsive and professional the company is. Communication was excellent from start to finish. It was clear, prompt, and reliable, making the entire experience completely stress-free. They were extremely knowledgeable about Ethiopian history, culture, and daily life, and their English was excellent, making everything easy to follow and engaging. I was able to see and experience so much of the culture in a very genuine and thoughtful way.
Even on days when many businesses were closed, they went the extra mile to find me a SIM card, helped install it, and made sure everything was working so I could stay connected without any issues. The driving was smooth and safe, and the car was very comfortable. Throughout the tour, they were punctual, dependable, and clearly experienced, which added a strong sense of trust and reliability.
The experience started beautifully with a traditional coffee-making and drinking ceremony, setting the tone for cultural immersion, and ended with witnessing the Epiphany / Timkat festival, which was unforgettable and deeply moving. The itinerary felt well-paced, flexible, and tailored rather than rushed or generic.
Overall, the service provided was exceptional and offered excellent value for money. This was more than just a tour. It was a meaningful, well-organized cultural experience. I would highly recommend Ethio Top Land Tours to anyone visiting Ethiopia and looking for authenticity, professionalism, and genuine care.

An incredibly accommodating private tour experience.
We arranged a private tour for three friends and were accompanied by our guide Lamesgn and our driver Abel. Overall both were excellent. We toured the tribes of the Omo Valley, which is pretty off the beaten path from other tourist areas of Ethiopia. With that came less infrastructure and less than comfortable accommodations, which was to be expected. We visited several tribes including the Dorze and Hamar tribes. The Dorze visit was the most engaging and interactive and fun, though having us dress up in tribal clothes was unnecessary. We spent a night camping with the Hamar tribe, which was a truly authentic experience (not so comfortable) but authentic nonetheless and the type of experience we asked for. Since it was Christmas night (Jan. 7) we experienced the sacrificing of a goat, and had dinner with the tribe before hunkering down in individual tents. We also visited the Karo and Mursi tribes which were interesting visits though more organized for tourists. One of the best experiences was a visit to the Hawasa fish market, where we learned about how the locals live off of the river and learned to make Ethiopian sushi. This experience happened because Lamesgn listened to our wanting more authentic experiences not built for tourists. We also got to watch a Hamar tribe bull jumping ceremony.
We were not thrilled with the food options for most lunches and dinners as these were at hotels. The menu was always the same, with mostly westerner options. That might be what many want but we wanted authentic Ethiopian, which we got on the last night in Arba Minch - a fun local place with a great vibe!
Most hotels we stayed in were ok - maybe a level 2/3. Electricity and water were spotty, which was to be expected in such a non-touristy area. The last night in Arba Minch we asked to change hotels to the Haile Resort, which was heaven on earth after 6 days of “roughing it”.
At all times Lamesgn did his best to make sure we were happy and comfortable and made changes to the itinerary as needed. Southern Ethiopia is dusty, bumpy, and filled with flies but as a well traveled group we could not have asked for a better guide and driver. This area of Ethiopia is very interesting and beautiful in areas. Overall a good experience but it’s not going to be for everyone.

The company that makes your travel safe and enjoyable
Everything was perfectly organised: from the first moment we stepped onto Ethiopia's land until the moment of our genuine goodbuy hug to our guide, being grateful for all the help and shared experiences of exploring the beauty of Ethiopia.
For the similar itineraries and activities all the touring complanies in the country organise, the Ethio Top Land Tours offers the best prices and good quality. The guides are knowledgeable and helpful, the drivers are punctual.
We've experienced a lot of challenges related to services, infrastructure, and qualities of undeveloped country itself, but the company put the maximum efforts to smooth the unconviniences, providing the best accommodation around your journey in different parts of Ethiopa, supporting in communication and resolving the problems related to your personal travel experience.
I would like to say the special thanks to Eshetu Shimels, our guide who accompanied us all the trip: outstandingly professional, experienced, knowledgeable, responsible, polite, kind, patient, punctual, helpful literally in every situation and question we had.

Very friendly, Nice and Well communicater
I think the biggest advantage of this tour company is how responsive they are. Traveling can feel a bit stressful, but I was able to ask as many questions as I wanted, and they replied quickly, which was really reassuring. They also accommodated my needs as much as possible, and I truly appreciated it!
The tour program was excellent, and the guide was incredibly kind and pleasant throughout the day.
They made it a day I won’t regret—an absolutely perfect day!

Eshetu is a very knowledgeable guide. He chose a good route around the city and added requests.
I had a great tour around Addis Ababa with Eshetu. He is very knowledgeable so that he can give valuable information on the country, history, culture and people. Eshetu chose a good route around the city and included requested spots as well.

Overall it would be a 4.5 stars review
We chose Ethio Top Land Tours for their itinerary and price, and their service before the tour was excellent. Lamesgn responded quickly, was very helpful, and even handled a cancelled domestic flight efficiently, giving us confidence in our choice.
The tour itself had ups and downs. We were disappointed to learn only upon arrival that we’d lose a day of hiking in the Simien Mountains due to our international flights, especially since we were excited about reaching 4,400 m on day three. Still, the Simien portion was well-organised, and the guide, driver, scout, cook, and assistant did a great job. Lalibela and Abune Yemata were also well-organised, with only a small misunderstanding about tips.
Danakil, the part we most looked forward to, was a letdown. The partner operator placed us on a group tour instead of the private one we booked, making the experience rushed and the guiding quality low. Despite still loving Danakil itself, we regretted how that part was handled. Ethio Top Land Tours has since ended their contract with that provider and tried to make up for it with complimentary drinks and hotel upgrades.
During our week in South Omo, guided by Lamesgn, pretty much everything ran smoothly and we had a fantastic time. Zwayne Lake, Abijeta-Shala National Park, and the Bale Mountains are must-sees.
Overall, I highly recommend Ethio Top Land Tours - they truly take care of their clients.

Very accommodating and professional tour company
Had a great day trip to Wanchi Crater from Addis Ababa yesterday with Ethio Land Top Tours. The crater is an amazing place with stunning views and it’s very peaceful. You don’t want to miss seeing this area and scenery.
Both the guide Gebiru and driver Kenaw, were very knowledgeable, kind, friendly and looked after me throughout the day. They went over an above to ensure I enjoyed the trip and that where possible, the itinerary suited my preference for what I wanted to see and do. Thanks!

I admire the professionalism of the tour operator
It was a surprisingly amazing tour accompanied by the tour operator Getachew! With the support of employees, I learned a lot of new and interesting things about the rich history of ancient and modern Ethiopia. I would especially like to note the high professionalism of the driver Abel and for the fascinating presentation of the guide Abush's information. I will definitely pass on to all my friends in Russia the contacts of a wonderful tour operator. I wish you prosperity and success to Getachew!
