It was everything I was expecting and more. Literally everything was nicer/cleaner/better than I was expecting. Mark Cahill, the managing director, was very friendly and easy to talk to about any questions regarding the trip. He customized several details of the trip to accommodate our wishes and travel needs. Excellent, all encompassing safari operator

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8-day Kenya Highlights trip with Odyssey Safaris. Overall, everything was very well organized, making our vacation experience one of the most memorable we've had.

From the very beginning, Mark was extremely responsive to all of my emails and made sure all of my questions were answered before we booked the trip and then before we departed. Once we arrived, our tour guide James was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. We didn't need to worry about anything - all logistics were taken care of (transportation, accommodations, food). Accommodations and food were also good quality overall.

In terms of the actual safari, we saw so much more and got so much closer to the animals than I expected. It was such a rewarding and educational trip. I would highly recommend Odyssey Safaris.

I can not say enough about Mark and his team at Odyssey Safaris. They were responsive to all of our questions and concerns with plenty of detailed and helpful information prior to the trip. Travel was easy. There was never a moment when we felt abandoned. We knew exactly what to expect (except for how beautiful the animals are!) at every step of the journey. The guides were always where they were supposed to be, waiting for us to assist us with our luggage and transfers.
The accommodations were 5 star. We could not have asked for more beautiful properties or settings. The lodge on the Mara was second to none.
The safari was incredible. Within 10 minutes of landing at the Massai Mara we encountered a pride of 13 lions! As this was just the beginning of our safari, it set the tone for a spectacular adventure. Our guide, Musa, was absolutely the best we could have asked for.
Thank you to the entire team at Odyssey, for an unforgettable trip. The memories will last a lifetime!

OMG, I had one of the most unforgettable experience of my life.

First time travelling on my own, I had some apprehensions but after speaking to Mark Cahill, prior to the trip, put me at ease. From the moment I exited the airport and saw someone holding a sign with my name on it and then greeted with a big smile, I knew I was in good hands. Erusta, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. The resorts were fabulous. Being with your first Safari of the season, I didn't think I would see much via animals, but OMG, there were animals everywhere. This trip was something I will talk about for a long time to come. I will tell those that I know to put it on their bucket list and that they must book with Odyssey Safaris.

Superior to Other Safari Companies

I would recommend Odyssey Safaris to anyone looking to take a safari. The trip was amazing. From the moment we landed, everything was taken care of for us. The person that picked us up from the airport was our guide for the entire tour which really helps you feel comfortable and not like you are being passed from guide to guide. I cannot understate the importance of going on a safari in the right vehicle (which would never have passed through my mind prior to this trip). Odyssey uses Land Rovers, many other companies use what looks like a volkswagon minivan. We saw twice on our trip these types of vehicles stuck in the rough terrain - one for several hours. The land rover is the ONLY vehicle to travel in on this type of terrain. James was our guide and I would highly recommend him ... especially for younger/middle aged people who can handle a faster pace. My friend and I are in our 30's and James' style suited us perfectly. He let us determine how much ground we wanted to cover in a day and if we wanted to add anything onto our trip (not pushy at all, but not such a slow pace that we felt we were missing things). The accomodations were far beyond our expectations - very clean, good food, large bathrooms, hardwood floors, the list goes on and on).

Great experience

We went for our first Kenya Safari trip in February 2014. Although it was not the right timing for the migration, we got to see a lot more than we expected. The trip was well planned out and arranged. Well done, Odyssey Safari.

They took care of all the details. I didn't need to worry about anything and all the tour guides and tour coordinators I encountered while there were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and very concerned with our health, safety, and enjoyment of the safari. I would book another safari with them.

Jambo. Amazing trip with Odyssey Safari. Right from the planning process, working with Lucy and Mark, to our excellent guide Erastus. They were always available to address any question via email, Whatsapp, phone. I felt very comfortable and safe. The staff at every hotel were so genuinely full of joy and we got great service. The hotels were outstanding, and the food was excellent with so many vegetarian options. The safari was unforgettable. Erastus spotted every animal, bird, wildlife. Unfortunately, we didn't see black rhino or river crossing. Hopefully next time. I would highly recommend Odyssey Safari and make sure you get Erastus as your guide. Entire trip was very well executed from the schedule to the jeep to the accommodations and the safari. Asante Odyssey Safari.

From the moment we started planning this trip, Odyssey Safari has gone above and beyond. Lucy was our coordinator and she effectively and efficiently managed all our questions, our last minute changes to the itinerary and built us the Safari of our dreams. They are prompt, professional and very well organized. No detail was missed. The itinerary was perfect, Lucy made sure that we saw everything we were hoping to see. The accommodations were next level, beautiful resorts, kind people, delicious food and all the amenities we could dream of. Our guides, Raymond and Nixon were the most knowledgeable, fun, and exciting men. They kept the vehicle clean, provided us with cold water, binoculars, plenty of restroom stops and a truly spectacular tour. The amount of animal and area knowledge was incredible and both Raymond and Nixon provided us with information we never knew. We can’t say enough about Raymond and Nixon, they will forever be part of our family and we love them. Thank you to all who made our dream trip to Africa come true!!!
