GREAT DAY!
We had a great day with our guide Eric. His French is perfect! We went on a safari in Akagera Park from Kigali. We saw a lot of animals. Our children were happy. It was a wonderful day.

professional, reliable, and highly knowledgeable tour operator.
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a day trip to Akagera National Park in Rwanda with Golden Rwanda Travels, and I must say, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From start to finish, their service was impeccable, and their attention to detail truly made the trip exceptional.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the incredible wildlife sightings. Akagera National Park is a gem, and thanks to our knowledgeable and friendly guide, we were able to spot a wide variety of game animals, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and even a few hippos. The guide’s expertise and keen eye for spotting animals made the safari both exciting and educational. He shared fascinating facts about the park’s ecosystem and the animals, which added so much depth to the experience.
What stood out most about Golden Rwanda Travels was their professionalism and commitment to ensuring a memorable trip. The vehicle was comfortable and well-maintained, and the team was punctual and organized. The guide went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience, answering all our questions and tailoring the tour to our interests.
I highly recommend Golden Rwanda Travels to anyone looking to explore Rwanda’s natural beauty. Their excellent service, combined with the expertise of their guides, makes them a top choice for any safari adventure. Thank you, Golden Rwanda Travels, for an incredible day in Akagera National Park—I will cherish the memories for a lifetime!

Very well-planned and well-organized trip above expectations
It was an amazing experience way above expectations:
- the country is amazingly clean and beautiful
- the experiences are very well-organized, timely, well-guided
I did not expect the monkeys to let people come over so close, to be so relaxed with people, to be so not caring about people watching them and taking pictures
- the tour guides are really professional and would address any question
- the driver I had during the whole trip, Mico, was amazing: he was there to give information, he was there asking feedback, he was interested in what I like and what I enjoy proposing experiences on top of the agenda to enhance my experience. He was not only on time meeting me in the mornings, the whole day each and every day was very well organized and we were arriving to all the places exactly when it was supposed - unexpected punctuality to be honest
- the hotels guys have chosen are all unique and authentic located in amazing places with amazing views and service
So just want to say thank you very much for the great week I had

An Unforgettable Journey Through Rwanda
I had an incredible experience with Golden Rwanda Safaris and highly recommend them to anyone traveling to Rwanda. When I started the process of selecting a tour operator, I reached out to about ten different companies with the same itinerary. Golden Rwanda Safaris stood out immediately for their competitive pricing and quick, clear communication. They made everything easy and seamless.
After booking, they provided copies of all my permits within days, and I was able to independently confirm their validity with the Rwanda Development Board - something I was worried about for such an expensive trip. My guide for the week, Dady, reached out to me about 24 hours before my arrival and assured me he'd be waiting for me at the airport for my 4 AM flight. True to his word, he was there, ready to be my guide, driver, and new best friend for the week.
I was traveling solo and admittedly nervous since it was my first trip to Africa, but Dady immediately put me at ease. Not only did I learn that Rwanda is the safest country in Africa (I honestly felt safer there than in New York City), but Dady’s guidance and care made the trip even more special. We had a Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 (so glad I had someone else driving, some of the roads definitely require expertise), and he tailored every part of the itinerary to my preferences and pace.
For example, I’m the kind of person who speeds through museums, and Dady helped me focus on the highlights at the Genocide Museum, which was incredibly moving and insightful. He also set realistic expectations for activities—like assuring me I’d only need about an hour of mountain biking in "The Land of a Thousand Hills." He was absolutely right, and I ended up calling him to pick me up early in the jeep, haha.
The rest of the itinerary was perfectly planned. The six-hour hike to Dian Fossey’s tomb was a standout—breathtaking views and definitely worth hiring a porter to help navigate the terrain. Kayaking through rice and tea fields was another highlight, with local farmers waving as I passed. And, of course, the gorilla trekking was insanely out of this world. Dady made sure I got a medium-level trek (exactly what I wanted), and his connections clearly paid off—I had a fantastic experience with an amazing gorilla family.
Dady always felt like my advocate, whether he was helping me understand fair prices with vendors or ensuring I had the best possible experience on excursions. His relationships with local guides and officials were evident and made everything run smoothly.
Only two minor critiques: after I paid, the company wasn’t quite as responsive as they were during the booking process—sometimes taking up to a week to respond to emails (so make sure you ask all your questions before you book and have a good idea of any activities you might be interested in). And there was a slight miscommunication about whether mountain biking was included in my package, but it was an honest mistake that was resolved within minutes, so it wasn’t a big deal and didn't distract from the experience
Overall, Golden Rwanda Safaris delivered a magical and unforgettable experience. Rwanda itself took my breath away—the rolling hills, lush landscapes, and warm hospitality are unlike anything I’ve experienced before. I’ve told all my friends that after three weeks in Africa, Rwanda was my absolute favorite. If you’re considering a trip, definitely check out Frank and Golden Rwanda Safaris—.

Knowledgable, great flexibility and communication and overall an excellent service
The best thing about our trip was our tour guide Sufiani. He was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and flexible with our plans. We did Gorilla trekking, river canoeing and also visited some local villages and museums. It was easy to communicate with Golden Rwanda, very quick to respond to emails in advance and Sufiani was only a WhatsApp away.

Wonderful guide and unbelievable experience!
For our honeymoon, we went on an 6 day experience with Golden Rwanda Safaris including a Gorilla Trek, a Golden Monkey trek, a Chimpanzee Trek, a Colobus Monkey trek and numerous other activities and it was FANTASTIC!
Eric was a wonderful guide! Super knowledgeable about the area, very professional and enjoyable to spend time with. He was always organized and right on time with a big smile on his face.
Our accommodations were great, much more luxurious than we were expecting for the price. The food was also delicious, particularly our stop at a local cafe on the way to a destination.
The real highlight, no surprise, was the gorillas. I ruptured my Achilles earlier in the year and Eric took special care to get us in an "Easy" hike, which was greatly appreciated. It is impossible to describe in words what spending an hour with the gorillas feels like, other than "unbelievable". We feel lucky beyond words.
Thank you Eric and Golden Rwanda Safaris!

The very best of the best!
Everything from first contact to the moment we landed home in the US was absolutely top notch. Frank worked tirelessly with me to customize our itinerary and to ensure that it included all the things we were hoping for and he 100% delivered. Despite the time difference between Rwanda and the US, he was always incredibly responsive to e-mails. This was no different when we were in Rwanda as he was only a What's App call away at any moment. While we were in Rwanda, he stayed in contact with our guide to make sure that we were happy and taken care of.
Mico was our guide and he is absolutely fantastic! At the end of the trip, I told him that my biggest compliment to him was that I felt like he was a long time friend who was showing us around his country, not at all like he was someone doing a job. He taught us a lot about the country, ensured that we got to every place we were supposed to be each day, offered suggestions for things we could do that we had not originally included on our itinerary, and was quick in action when challenges presented themselves. We would 100% love to return and have him as our guide again.
Murakoze cyane to Frank and Mico for the trip of a lifetime. We hope to return one day!
