Loved my experience with Golden Safari at Akagera! Our driver was Frank and he was prompt, friendly and fun. Our tour guide, Justine, was just as fun and informative. We saw almost all the Big 5 animals except for lion, and it was well worth it.

Golden Rwanda Safaris is a very reliable company with excellent customer service and affordable car rental price. Me and my partner had hired a Toyota rav4 from them and the car worked perfectly on both sealed and unsealed roads. The owner is always very responsive and genuine. He is happy to go extra miles to support us even it is offoffice hours. Strongly recommend to people who need a car or any travel packages.

Breath-taking & Ultra Accommodating
Before I go on THANK YOU JOANNA for being the best guide we could ask for.
Prior to arriving, Frank was very responsive, helpful and professional when making our itinerary. This process was the start to a very carefree trip where we didn’t have to worry about a THING.
From the moment we landed in Rwanda the team was by our side, there was no moment where we felt confused nor felt lost in a new city. They were always ready and willing to go the extra mile for us.
For example we planned a day in Rwanda just to ourself , easier said than done in terms of getting around. As soon as we told them that we planned to check out the city they asked if we wanted a driver to show us around. What was supposed to be a day of just checking out the place turned into a tour where we learned so much.
The accommodations at each destination were top notch and the service was unreal especially where we stayed to see the gorillas!
The days were well planned but also flexible if we needed to modify. It was all about the details! For example: There were always fresh bottled water in the car. And having the resource of a local guide at all times gave us a deeper appreciation for the country and culture.
A perfect example of the level of thoughtfulness:
While in Akagera we wanted playing cards. Joanna and our local guide went so far out of their way to get someone in town to buy and deliver a pack of cards all the way into the national park. It was BEYOND our expectations.
Jonna and team are super thoughtful. We were able to totally customize our trip to our schedule and spend our time the way we wanted.

Incredible service
I booked my trip, which included a gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park, a 2-day safari in Akagera and a Kigali city tour, in 2019 for June 2020. 2 Years of COVID craziness (especially as I was living in Hong Kong, which has the most stringent and chaotic travel restrictions in the world), led to constant changes and re-bookings on my part. Throughout Frank was incredibly helpful and patient...I felt so bad about all of the chaos, but he always accommodated me.
The trip itself went perfectly - not a complaint. The accommodations and food Frank selected were terrific, and he actually provided me with more than I was expecting. My guide and driver, Claude, was also extremely knowledgeable, a great driver and a lot of fun. Both Frank and Claude were open and gave a lot of personal insight into Rwanda's sad recent history.
As a bonus, the vehicle was comfortable, and we saw everything there was to see on the safari in Akagera. I had such an amazing time that I'm planning on returning with some of my family members and would gladly use Golden Rwanda Safaris again, without hesitation.

Clear communications and excellent execution made an amazing trip
I can't say enough good things about my trip to Rwanda and my experience with Golden Rwanda Safaris. Frank and his team hosted me for a 5-day tour of Rwanda based around the gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. Prior to my trip Frank answered multiple messages clearly, promptly, and in a tone that inspired confidence. Claude my driver and guide met me at the airport and made me feel so welcome and at ease right away. The hotels were lovely, and the driving was safe, easy and smooth. Once you have decided to visit the gorillas, the costs go up significantly, but I felt like everything was priced fairly, I never felt taken advantage of or pestered to buy something I didn't want or need. My trip to Lake Kivu was nice and relaxing and Claude was able to make a change in the itinerary while I was with him so that we could visit a coffee plantation which was fantastic. I highly recommend Golden Rwanda Safaris to help visitors have a truly unforgettable experience in a special part of the world.

Booked back-to-back tours with gorilla trecking in Volcanoes National Park, and big five safari in Akagera National Park. Golden Rwanda Safaris were flexible and provided professional guidance and tour guides to make my dream gorilla trecking and big game African photo safari come true. For gorillas we spent an hour with a 22-member gorilla family as they eat and played, which included two silverbacks, two babies, and other varying aged gorillas and were supported by national park guides and excellent trackers. For big game safari, saw many, many wild animals and birds throughout the park on both day and night tours. Spent two nights at each location. Accommodations and food were excellent. Felt safe and secure at all times.
