We've been to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi a few times now and love the scenery and the wildlife. On a couple of occasions we've been held up on the road by two or three big white rhinos which were awfully close and at other times we've seen 12 or more in a single game drive. The bird life has also been wonderful and one time while sitting in a small picnic area we had a leopard wander down the nearby dry river bed.

The accommodation in the hilltop lodge is first class, as is the food.

I'd go back again on our next trip to South Africa, which hopefully wont be too far away!

Botswana has some very beautiful areas, such as Makgadikgadi, Chobe, Moremi and Okavango Delta, with loads of wildlife. However, it's close proximity to South Africa makes it a busy place. Many campsites in National Parks need to be booked more than a year in advance. This pre-arrangement doesn't give the country a real 'bush-vibe', although some gems, such as Makgadikgadi still feel very much like the real deal.

Zim has some fantastic spots, Matusadona, Hwange, Mana Pools, Chimanimani. Some Americans, used to the advertising of a Kenyan or Tanzanian safari, might be a little disappointed, but the connoisseur will be rewarded.

Parts of the park are beautiful, although the animals do not match the Mara there are still lots to see and enjoy. Failed as in Lake Manyara Tanzania to see the famous tree climbing lions.

Good diversity of species but less visited by tourists. The lodge in the park has a great riverside setting. Chance of seeing wild dog.

Checked many different accommodations and was able to pay in one amount rather than paying each site seperately.

Our last park and one where the wildlife was more elusive. Perhaps because it was drier. The wildlife surrounding the Sopa Lodge were elephants and WaterBuck primarily and could be easily spotted.

The service was good, everything was pretty much as promised, but I would have expected a more intensive activity during the day (more/longer game drives). I would use them again, but you you make very clear in advance what activity will be provided as a minimum.
