An out of the world, awesome experience

Good weather, good food, good accommodation - eveything beyond expectation/ imagination. What appealed most was the fact that the Tanzanian people are so eco-conscious. The locals are careful not to spoil the savannahs. Neat places, healthy respect for fellow human beings, law abiding, secular, etc.- wonderful people. In remote places in the jungle women were working in the lodges in the night showing that there is ample safety and respect for women. It was great to spend some time in such a glorious nation with wonderful people.

Fascinating country

The safari exceeded our expectations - the national parks are well maintained, the people who worked in the lodges are diligent and efficient, the tented camps are a welcome surprise, the variety and concentration of wildlife gave us thrill and chill each day. We passed by local folks and they seem warm and accomodating, they made us feel welcome. I commend the country and people behind conservation groups for preserving the national parks. It made me aware of our responsibility to preserve God's creation so future generation have something to experience. This is a true legacy.

Zanzibar - I was not thrilled when I saw it. I guess I'd been to better white sand beach. But the resort is good, with wide selection of food in dinner buffet. What I did like though is the privacy we had in the beach front despite the resort being fully booked.
Stonetown is a very interesting city, very rich in culture and architecture.

I'm sure the bush vibe was there but I was in 5* lodges, so not so much. TZ is the best place in the world to see not just the 'big 5' but so much more the parks are vast with a variety of environments, the people I met were lovely

I've been in Tanzania for 10days. 8 climbing kilimanjaro, 2 on Safaris. This has been the BEST trip of my life. Its all been done through East African Voyage, who has proven to be an impecable travel agency. Kilimanjaro was the best experience of my life and the camping structure provided by East African Voyage greatly contributed for the feeling. Our guides victor, ray and jerald where the kindest and most prepared and experienced professionals we could hope for. The 2 days on safari - Taranguire and Ngorongoro were spectacular. Such a diverse, rich and fully preserved wildlife. Victor was again our guide, providing us with the best possible experience. Fantastic catering.

Tanzania has everything, the tallest free standing mountain, the most incredible national parks and some of the best beaches. The people are fantastic and the food is great :)

We enjoyed our Safari with It Started in Africa. Planning from Canada a couple of months in advance the team took care of flights getting us from South Africa to Kilmanjaro and onward to our final destination. Being met at the airport and taken to our hotel was the opening level of service and care we enjoyed throughout. The expert driver always made us feel safe and took time to show us parts of the city and viewpoints that were a joy to experience. Our patient guide was very observant and as a team with the driver ensured we were given ample opportunity to take pictures and observe the vast amount of wildlife. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the customs, plants and animals of the region, making it a great time of learning. Lake Manyara and Ngorangoro crater were absolutely beautiful. The accommodations and food were exceptional and we felt like it was first class all the way.

We went to Tanzania in september 2014, booked by Matoke Tours.
It was a Fly in safari, we flew to Dar es Salaam, and then flying to Selous Game reserve, and after 3 days we flew to Ruaha.
We did this safari in the south of Tanzania to avoid to much tourism.
The safari was very good organized by Matoke Tours. In Selous River Camp we slept in a mud hut which was a nice experience, the food was very good, and the Guides had good knowledge about the animals and the park itself. The weather was good, and the tse tse flies where not to much of a bother
In the park (Selous Game reserve) itself we saw much wildlife, especially a great number of giraffes. The best safari we had in the park was the boat safari, for i am a birding man and on the river where all sorts of birds. And in the lake area there where countless very large crocodiles.
In Ruaha National Park, we stayed at Tandala Tented Camp. The tents in this camp stood on platforms, around 2 metres high.
Read more In the camp was a waterhole, and all night long there where Elephants coming to drink.
This made the stay in this camp a very special occasion. Also the food was very good, and the guides experienced.
In the park itself there where very much and big elephants, also we also a great number of lions, and two times we saw a leopard. The number of wildlife is much greater than in Selous, and this park is much wilder.
After these safari we flew to Zanzibar for three days at the beach.
The conclusion is that this safari trip had everything what we expected and more. The trip was very good organized by Matoke, and i would recommend them for those who would go to Africa for a safari trip.
